What about the Reds? I don't see them mentioned much around here.

I hear ya man! Appreciate the advice! I enjoy baseball but I sure suck at knowing the details of how things work! Lol!

I definitely like this option actually. I wouldn't mind playing in that stadium and blowing up a roster. Plus, rebuilding that horrible farm system sounds amazing.

I'm having a great time with Seattle. When I said blow it up, I meant blow it up. I've traded away Cruz, Gordon, Cano, Seager, and Paxton so far. Everything must go! I just played my first game post-trades and of course I lost on a walk-off suicide squeeze in 16 innings. Gotta love it.

Braves have the No.1 farm system in baseball, and the No.1 overall prospect as well in Ronald Acuna Jr.

Thanks man! I’m actually considering using the braves! Back in the day I loved them with Andruw Jones, chipper, smoltz. They were a solid team for a while!

I was thinking of doing one with a team that has some good young players, preferably in the AL (been the Reds for years). Anyone messed with the Rays at all?

Okay, I have a question about budgets. Is there any point to buying money in the bank with my stubs, besides I guess being able to run a deficit somehow? I got the $20 million one and it didn't increase the budget I have to make moves in season whatsoever. When I simmed to the offseason, that money in the bank vanished. Googling the budget system gave me someone somewhere talking about last year's franchise budget (I took last year off) and suggested that you bank money seems to get folded into your spending room in some unclear, byzantine way. I've already got half a season under my belt so I'd really rather not start over with contracts turned off, but as is this system seems really limiting and vague.

I've played the first 8 games of the season and stand at 6-2 with the Pirates. still been messing with the sliders a bit. I was just wondering if i should sim any games and what percentage should i play? trying not to make big trades til june or july.

I feel like I'm almost ready to start my franchise for the year. I've edited the osfm roster to give more realistic contracts for players, I've added everyone to the 40 man rosters who should be there, I've edited the potentials to be realistic to make up for them not doing it in years and I'm considering editing a few players speed as I don't think the new method they used came up with very good ratings.

I think that's everything, then I just have to start up with 20 man control, no budgets and manually add all the injuries.

Have I missed anything glaring? I always spend ages setting up my franchise as I really don't want to run into problems after playing 50 games

I play as the Phillies and I don't like playing games against teams in my division as it gets a bit boring playing against the same teams throughout the year. So I usually play the entire series against those other teams and maybe 2 out of the 3 games against teams in my division. If that because I may just play one game, win that game and then sim the other two. What I used to do at first was play the first two games of the series and if I win those I would sim the third. If I lost the first game of the series I would for sure play the next two because I just want to win series that's it. I've never made it through and entire season before in franchise so by simming some games I'm sure I will this time.

As May begins, my Rays are 14-16 which puts us 6 games back on the AL East leading Blue Jay's (21-11].

With the exception of the very first series against the Red Sox, I have Quick Managed every single game. I went most of the first month trying to use the 4-man rotation that the Rays are trying to use (using the 5th one as a "bullpen day"), but I have started to settle in on making Nathan Eovaldi my 5th guy.

I also made one move, I traded CF Joshua Lowe, SP Jose Mujica, and SS Andrew Velasquez to the Dodgers for Austin Barnes.

Wilson Ramos has been terrible, just hitting .157. All of my possible 2B have been terrible as well. Barnes will man one of those spots full-time moving forward.

As far as pitching goes, Archer has been outstanding with a 1.32 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. He has gotten no run support, though, as he has a 1-2 record. Jake Faria has been great with his 2.25 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. He has also gotten great run support that has given him a 4-1 record.

It's been an up and down start. I'm excited to see if this team can settle in moving forward.

I think i might play the first month and sim 5 games then play 5 games then sim 5 games. when i sim i quick manage but i can't really find great sliders cause i swing at EVERYTHING.

Bell has 5HR in first 9 games. my team is jacking homers left and right. surprisingly the Orioles are 10-0!

Do you have any suggestions as to what sliders i could use if i'm on rookie hitting and all star pitching. remember i swing at everything. so far it has been fairly realistic but the pitching is a little too easy.
