    Yeah, Boeve's career is insane.

    2,692 IP, 1.94 ERA, 3,451 K, 234-39 record.

Last season, he had a 2.49 ERA, that broke a string of 8 years of a sub-2.00 ERA.

From 2023-2026, he went 90-4 with ERAs from 1.44 to 1.90.

Will so miss this guy when he quits. He's my franchise's Walter Johnson.

I got off to a terrible start and fell 8.5 games behind the Nationals but have cut the lead to 2.5 games, currently sitting at 50-31

My starting pitching has been what has carried the team and Familia has had a ton of save opportunities due to my poor offense leading to close games nearly every day
      Syndergaard 8-3 3.33 era 110.2 IP 124 SO
      deGrom 6-2 1.95 era 110.2 IP 129 SO
      Matz 10-1 1.93 era 107 IP 118 SO
      Wheeler 11-3 3.33 3ra 97.1 IP 101 SO
      Hyun-Jin Ryu 2-1 1.93 era 37.1 IP 32 SO

My bullpen has been hit or miss but Familia has racked up 34 saves so far. I grabbed Trevor Rosenthal off of the scrap heap about ten days ago and he's been outstanding, I'm regretting that I only gave him a one year deal.

Offensively I'm hitting a bunch of home runs but nobody is getting on base and when they do, I run myself out of the inning. Cespedes and Adrian Gonzalez are the only guys hitting over 300, but every hit Gonzalez gets seems to be a single with nobody on base. Frazier leads the team with 45 RBI, Conforto with 44 and Cespedes 43. Cespedes has 25 HR, Frazier 21, Conforto 17 and Bruce has 14. Brandon Nimmo has 12 HRs in only 134 at bats so I need to find a way to get him in the lineup more
Yeah, it's pretty much HR or bust for my offensive output with the Mets. Thankfully, guys like Frazier and Bruce perform much better in the game than irl.

One series to go before we get to September. We're 17.5 games ahead of Washington.

Played a ton of franchise with my favorite team (tigers), I've worn it out a bit and want a change, looking for a new team. Looking for someone in the NL, pretty open to anyone, what're yall saying? only real clause I have is no powerhouse teams (cubs, dodgers, etc.) I'd like a team that needs at least some retooling, not an instant contender. Thanks.

How about giants? They have almost no minor leaguers and have some pieces to win or trade

Atlanta is really tempting, Ozzie Albies is one of my favorite players right now, and soroka is from my home city. Tough choices!

When I started my franchise I perfected poking the ball to LF with Bruce for an easy double but now my timing is thrown off and I can rarely do it anymore so I stopped trying. My goal is to put up decent enough numbers with him and trade him in the offseason and have it feel like a realistic trade. I started out terrible with Frazier but the last month to month and a half he has been my MVP on offense

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

Hey guys I'm using default rosters that I have balanced out all the positions so they have same amount of 90s, 80s, 70s etc players at each position. I'm starting up a 30 man fantasy draft ( I know tough task) that I'm using recommend pick for CPU teams and I can only pick from players that are the top remaining for each position. I can only pick A potential players if they are the top player remaining for their position (so I dont end up with all the best potential players)
For the first 4 picks I make it so each team has a SP, CP, and 2 positional players. So we all start off as balanced as possible then it's fair game from then on lol (tho I will try and keep rosters balanced so teams dont have for example 12 catchers and only like 2 LF)

I'm using my hometown team Seattle Mariners and have the 10th pick. I've only done 7 rounds so far but I'm really excited with what has fallen to me!!!!!

                    Round 1- Kris Bryant (3B 94OVR)
                    Round 2- Cody Bellinger (1B 88OVR)
Round 3- Luis Severino (SP 86OVR)
Round 4- Corey Knebel (CP 84OVR)
Round 5- Garrett Richards (SP 83OVR)
Round 6- Edwin Diaz (RP 81OVR)
Round 7- Delino Deshields Jr (CF 80OVR)

As you can see I have all my star/ace/closer positions filled up with my first 7 picks. I usually draft a SP and CP with my first 2 picks but once i saw Kris Bryant and Cody Bellinger still there i had to throw that strategy out the window lol

I will post my 40 man roster and top 10 Prospects when I'm finished with the draft. With the way the draft has started I'm extremely excited about how my team will turn out.

BTW I use my own sliders that are very realistic for me. I use classic pitching and directional hitting. Also use auto fielding and throwing so that ratings really matter. I play on All Star all around.

(Sorry for such a long post lol, I've read thru all the pages on here and got me excited about sharing with everyone lol)

We took two out of three from the Reds in Cincinnati to improve to 9-3 on the young season. Our pitching has been dominant early in the season. Hoping at some point our bats will catch up as Carpenter, Grichuk, Wisdom, and DeJong are all struggling at the moment.

Next up is a 3 game series with the Nationals in Washington.

Well, that was fun. Lost a 19-inning game to the Cubs 3-2. Teams combined for 45 strikeouts! Michael Conforto definitely had a game to forget; 1-for-8 with 6 K's.

Cubs have won 11 straight games and are the hottest team in baseball. Meanwhile, the Mets dropped their third consecutive game and need to win their next contest to avoid ending August with a losing record for the month.

Only bright side is this cold stretch isn't happening in the postseason. We have a month to get hot again.

I'm going to sim spring training then play every pitch/game for my team. My team came out better than expected. I did make a couple trades for Archer, Paxton, Braun and Herrera. I'll let you know how my 25 man roster turns out

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm 80 games into my first season with the Braves. I just got swept by the Reds (don't laugh, they're tied for first with the Cubs in the Central) but I still have the best record in MLB at 52-28. Unfortunately, the Mets have the second-best record at 49-31. The rest of the division is really struggling, so it looks like it's going to be a great battle with the Mets.

Cubs/Reds are tied in a crowded Central race. Dodgers lead the Giants in the West.

Jays, Indians and Angels are the division leaders in the AL. Astros are right there with the Angels. Yankees and Red Sox both have losing records.

Freddie Freeman is having an MVP-type season, batting .295 with 17 homers and 63 RBIs. Inciarte, Albies and Flowers have also been key offensive pieces.

The rotation is still struggling, but my bullpen has been lights out. Vizcaino has 28 saves, a 0.73 ERA and 0.53 WHIP.

I just made my second major-league move, trading Christian Colon back to the Marlins for Derek Dietrich. Hoping Dietrich can upgrade the bench. He was hitting just .189 with the Marlins, although he has four homers.

As we get closer to the trade deadline, I'm mulling trying to make a move for Adam Jones. Or, I could finally call up Acuna.

As you can see from trades I only traded from teams that were between 25-30th in team rank and are rebuilding. I believe all the trades I did were extremely fair in that I took on contracts and they got high potential prospects in return.
Tell me what you guys think of the trades and if you think they were fair
