So I have decided I'm going to do another fantasy draft after my nephew deleted my last one. I just prefer fantasy draft because when its the real team I end up trying to do everything that's happening in real life and I end up not playing at all. So wish me luck with doing ANOTHER 30 team control fantasy draft all 90 rounds. Hopefully my team turns out well like my last one lol

Same here, I'm about 90 games in and have not had an injury occur during an inning I wasn't simming yet. The closest I've gotten was a few pre game injuries that will keep someone out for a few days. If I put the slider any higher than 6 my minor league games that I sim end up with what seems like an injury every day

                PIRATES FANTASY 2018 PLAYOFFS UPDATE
the BAL Orioles beat the LA Angels 6-1 in the AL Wildcard Game. Josh Reddick hit a solo shot early in the 1st for the Angels, but the O's knocked in 3 off of MadBum before the end of 3 innings and managed to hold onto the lead for the rest of the game. Kluber went 9 innings allowing 3 hits and a run, with 8 strikeouts and a walk.

                NLDS

PIT Pirates vs. MIA Marlins: the Pirates will look to keep shooting the long ball into the postseason as NL HR king Zunino, DeJong and Schwarber will lead the way in that department. The Marlins, led by Joe Panik, Michael Brantley, Francisco Lindor, Salvador Perez and JBJ, will be sending out ace Shohei Ohtani to counter against CY Young winner Steven Strasburg in game 1. Ohtani went 14-5 with 217 SO and 2.63 ERA and 1.28 WHIP through 201.2 IP as a rookie. Rookie OF Kyle Tucker also had a breakout rookie year, hitting 25 HR with a .281 avg. Marlins are backed by Jimmy Nelson and Cole Hamels in the rotation, and also have Brad Peacock, Mark Melancon and Brandon Morrow coming out of the pen.

                SF Giants vs. CHC Cubs
                previewed in last post

                ALDS
SEA Mariners vs. DET Tigers: the Mariners are led by 2 .300 hitters in A.J. Pollock and Daniel Murphy, and Joey Gallo batting cleanup, who hit .250 with 25 HR. With Luis Severino and Kyle Hendricks both having ERAs around 3.00, and Cody ALlen, Andrew CHafin, and CP Addison Reed coming out of the pen, this team looks as though their pitching is their strength. The Tigers have even better pitching though with Clayton Kershaw and David Price. Kershaw went 10-3 with a 2.33 ERA, but missed a significant chunk of the season due to injury. he pitched 169.2 innings. Archie Bradley is their closer. Their offense is led by Odubel Herrera, Didi Gregorius and Anthony Rendon.

BOS Red Sox vs. BAL Orioles: the Orioles move through the Wild Card game to take on division rival Boston, led by Nolan Arenado, Rhys Hoskins and Edwin Encarnacion in the heart of the order. each hit 32, 38 and 40 HR respectively, with Hoskins batting .323. not a strong pitching staff with Dallas Keuchel and Sean Manaea, Tanaka was okay but regressed significantly. All had ERA under 4 but nothing eye popping. Josh Hader leads the bullpen as the CP.

                Stay tuned!

Creare 2 sliders a "play" slider with injuries at 9 and a "sim" slider with injuries at 6. Just load sliders back and forth from playing games to simming games

That being said, I don’t think thats a super weird trade. Robertson is past 30 and an impending free agent, so its more of a Tanaka for Hosmer swap. Contract for contract? Plus Hosmer would be killer batting in Yankee stadium with his lefty swing between Stanton and Judge.
It's a really good trade for SD, Tanaka is making almost half as much as Hosmer and only has three years left. I just can't believe a team on track to win their division would trade away a Cy Young candidate for another bat in a lineup that has Judge and Stanton, especially when they could have just signed him the previous off season

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

Only one month and one day in with the Marlins at May 2nd and something has definitely already made itself very clear. Which is that this team is bad. Embarrassingly bad. Heading into May the Fish hold a pathetic record of 7-22, worst record in baseball. The offense has only put up 79 runs, also the worst in baseball. No other team is even below 100 runs scored. Slightly surprised at that as on paper the lineup looks like it should be somewhat competent and competitive. This team needs even more work then I thought.

Mid April we went into a terrible stretch where we lost 7 in a row. Only won 1 game out of our last 10. Brian Anderson slowed down and is cold at the moment. We aren’t getting anything from
Castro, Dietrich, Prado, and Brinson. Only 2 of our starters have an ERA under 4.00. Only one of our relievers has an ERA under 4.00.

Bruce Rondon hasn’t been good so far allowing 12 runs in 12 innings pitched. Henderson Alvarez’s return to South Beach hasn’t gone to plan as his ERA is 5.94. So basically this entire team except for Maybin, Escobar, Bour, Realmuto, and Anderson is a dumpster fire. Great start to the season.

We went into Washington and was swept by the Nationals, with every game being a 1 run loss. Tough series. Next is a three game series with the World Series defending champion Dodgers. Its a quick 3 game homestand before we head to Atlanta for 4, then back home.

The Marlins managed to avoid the sweep behind a strong start from Damian Boeve.

The veteran ace allowed two runs in seven innings of work, striking out nine. He left with a 6-2 lead and the Marlins held on to win 6-4.

Boeve improved to 14-2 as the All-Star Break nears. His ERA nudged up to 2.14. He is currently second in All-Star voting for NL starting pitcher.

The offense showed promise early in the game, knocking the Rays starter out in the 4th with six run against him, and then they couldn't put anything together, even with some opportunities.

Still, though, it's a win and the Marlins can look forward to a fresh start in the next series as well as a win to start July.

The next opponent for the Marlins will be a four game set with the Pirates.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

The 2017 Offseason brought the Pirates to an "unwinnable" impasse. Do the Pirates satisfy their fanbase by sinking roughly $30M a year into an aging Franchise player and a pitcher who throws 1 inning a night (on a good night), or trust in the future, and invest for it.

                            The Pirates chose the latter.

Unfortunately Andrew McCutchen's ask was just too much for the Pirates, who felt that their internal options moving forward would be more beneficial for them for the upcoming season, rather than bringing back McCutchen. While Season Ticket Deposits dropped tremendously that day, the Pirates still believe that they've made the best decision moving forward. The Pirates also allowed familiar faces in Phil Gosselin, Tony Watson, Juan Nicasio, Wade LeBlanc, and John Jaso walk in Free Agency, fully embracing the future. McCutchen and Watson were tendered though, to ensure that they would be reimbursed if/when they signed elsewhere.

The Pirates extended Austin Meadows, Rhys Hoskins, Nick Kingham, Jameson Taillon, and Tyler Glasnow into their arbitration years. The Pirates also extended reliever Carter Capps for 3 years, and instilled him as their closer. The Pirates also made a move to trade David Freese, who had fallen out of favor on the roster with the play of Phil Gosselin for a AA reliever with the Red Sox.

The growth of Nick Kingham and contractual obligations to Tyler Glasnow (rotation spot), made Ivan Nova and Trevor Williams expendable. Nova was traded to the Rockies for Carlos Estevez and Adam Ottavino to shore out the bullpen. Williams was traded to the Yankees, surprisingly starving for a starter, for a MiLB reliever, Tyler Wade, and Miguel Andujar (who apparently both suck in this roster).

With the loss of their inning eater LRP, Wade LeBlanc, the Pirates went out and added Brett Anderson on a 1-year deal to fill out the bullpen. Still left with some holes in the OF, the Pirates added Desmond Jennings on a 1 year deal, and also added Tommy Pham on a MiLB contact to fill out Indianapolis' outfield. The Pirates attempted to lure Eugenio Suarez from their division rival Reds, but were outbid by the Yankees. The Pirates settled for Adonis Garcia on a 1 year deal. Lastly, the Pirates, feeling a need to add a LHP to their rotation, sent Chad Kuhl to Chicago for Henry Owens as a 1-for-1 deal. Owens will be the first LHP to start for the Pirates since 2016. The Pirates also added a multitude of talent to their system, including unsigned draft picks in Josh Dale and Deandre Cohen. Dale is a late bloomer, who has a high ceiling, despite just turning 22 (only 51 OVR). Cohen is talented enough to be in most MLB bullpens, but will start in Indianapolis as their closer.

The Pirates promoted their Compensatory 1st Round Pick, Pablo Sanchez (changed his name simply because he has damn near the EXACT STANCE) to the 25-man, he will platoon at SS with Jordy Mercer. As the roster stands, here is what the opening day 25 man will look like in Pittsburgh:

                            Lineup:

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread

We beat the Dodgers 1-0 in the opening of a 3 game series. Michael Wacha was again masterful as he threw 7 scoreless innings of 2 hit ball. He stuck out 11 and was lifted after 113 pitches. Sam Freeman pitched the 8th and retired the side on 5 pitches. Rosenthal closed it out by striking out the side in the 9th.

Our lone run was another Paul DeJong long ball as his bat has started heating up. DeJong was 3 for 4 in the series finale against Washington and went 2 for 2 with a walk in the game vs the Dodgers.

Michael Wacha has the same look about him this year as he did in 2017 when he won the Cy Young award. Rosenthal, after having a rocky 2019 season that saw him demoted, not only from his closer role, but down to Memphis to work things out, has been pitching extremely well early in the season.

                              NOTE FROM THE ORGANIZATION:

*Alex Reyes is struggling mightily in Memphis right now. Reyes holds a 0-3 record with a 9.72 ERA. In 3 starts he has only pitched a total of 14 innings. We may be sending Reyes to Springfield to work things out.

                              * The issue of over crowding in the outfield is a continuing problem despite the moving of Tommy Pham. The Cardinals, while not any time soon, could be looking to make a move that involves players such as Jeremy Hazelbaker, Nick Martini, or a younger prospect such as Eddie Casilla.

                              * Jayson Aquino has once again landed on the DL with arm issues. He is expected to miss 1-2 months. Aquino missed 2-3 months last year with arm issues. Aquino was regarded as a highly touted prospect that could break into the big leagues by this time, but injuries continue to set him back.

                              * Carson Kelly will most likely be placed upon the trade block come the first of May. While we are still about 2 weeks away from then, the thought is that Kelly is a man without a home in the Cardinals organization. He's struggled to hit at the major league level and is struggling defensively now as well. With Andrew Knizer starting in Memphis and highly touted prospect Devon Snow starting in Springfield, Kelly seemingly doesn't have a spot in the organization. The Cardinals will wait until May as they traditionally do before making any roster changes based upon performance.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Mets are 2-0 post-Cespedes season-ending injury, although they did lose another LF, as Matt den Decker hurt himself on a diving catch. He's on the 10-day DL. Glad we're not going back to AT&T Park this season; that outfield doesn't like us!

In other news, the Cubs have won 14 straight games. We still have a healthy lead for the best record in the NL, but Chicago is doing its best to make things interesting down the stretch. Washington has also been on a roll, winning 11 of its last 13 games. They are cemented into the top Wild Card spot, with Colorado, Saint Louis and Milwaukee battling it out for the second WC.
