Countryboy, are you running budgets on or off? I'm considering restarting my franchise with them off.

We have a big decision to make as teams are now offering contracts to Carlos Martinez. They are in the ballpark of $13.5M per year.

I really want him back but we would have to look at maybe moving someone to offset that contract.

Going to have to look over the roster and contracts and see what we may be able to do. Lance Lynn is a name that comes to mind as he is in year 2 of a 5 year deal and making $9M per year. That would make the cost of Martinez only $5M roughly to re-sign if we dealt Lynn away.

I'm sitting at 10 games over .500 with the Mets and I think the Dodgers are a few games behind that. The Cubs and Nationals don't seem to lose EVER so that is what seems to be causing the imbalance.

I just lost to the Mets in the NLDS. And Cubs respond to missing the playoffs by signing King Felix. Then of course you have the 4 straight World Series championships Dodgers.

The road to the World Series in the NL just went up a notch or two.

I'm planning on clearing as much salary as possible so that I can make a run at Arenado in 2020. I don't plan on giving out any contracts with more than one year this upcoming offseason so the only big contract I'll have on the books is Cespedes when Arenado hits the market

                            OVERVIEW
Definitely our best stretch throughout this season, however, it is likely too little too late. We are 10.5 games back of the Indiand and 8.0 games back of the wildcard. We will need a spectacular September to even sniff a wildcard shot. This had been a terrible disappointing seaso especially after winning over 100 games last season.

Aside from our down sizing to get within budget, we are still on paper the 4th best team in the league. But our pitching staff hasnt performed well and offensively, Tim Anderso (.245) and Wellington Castillo (.220) have hurt us. Still, we will try our hardest to perform well in September to give us a shot.

My money is spread around as the highest paid player on the roster as of right now is Michael Wacha at $12.2M per year. Matt Carpenter is next at $11.5M per year. It's spread fairly evenly after that.

As best I can figure my total payroll available is appx $96M for the year. We are already at $78M for the year.

EDIT: I think I'm figuring my total payroll incorrectly. I have $3.17M cash flow (weekly) available now. If I multiply that by 26 weeks (its a little more than 26 weeks but I'm not doing the decimals..lol) then I have about $82M left to spend with $78M already committed, which is a total of appx $160M for payroll.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
