Re: Difference between MLB 17 vs MLB 18

You just said you only played 3 innings. So which is it?

    FROM YOU:
"....I don't get you people. I have 17 and my buddy has 18. I wasn't going to buy this game till I played It on his system. What is wrong with you people. It's the same exact game as 17 just a little fine tuned nothing that big not even that fine tuned. Why are you guys all fan boys putting your hard earn money on the same exact game. Plus they took out season mode. I just don't get it. Yes I have played it before you bash me. It's the same same game. You guys got duped.
My buddy has it. I played it. It's really no different.. I played a few games. I am not gonna upgrade for a few more cutscenes...."

Just start a thread at how you hate the game and you, and whoever, can have a merry ole time with it, but don't give us "Let's have an honest discussion" and then rip everyone who loves the game.

Ok...you say you're not trolling, so let me ask...

Honestly, what was the point of this thread?

Because you seem to pretty much have your mind made up in regards to '18 not being worth purchasing. You've said that numerous of times in different threads.

You've said after playing 3 innings of the game at a buddy's house that: (although another thread you reference playing a few games)

      * '18 is the same game as '17
      * Pitchers don't throw pitches out of the zone despite you having the sliders at 0
      * that games are too quick
      * people who bought '18 have been duped
      * that the removal of season mode means you are definitely not buying because you are a season mode only player
      * your buddy returned his copy it is crap
      * you stated that you are trying to get the "fanboys" to admit that its the same game as '17

So I seriously ask, what was the point of this thread?

18 is a vastly improved game on the field as of the current patch. I'd be fine if they leave the game alone and patch only aesthetic stuff for the rest of the year.

They did a great job on gameplay for this version. I'm pleasantly surprised.

            3. Huge difference in Pitchers. Yes great results just as in 17, but Gameplay is just plain better. I use Armor and Swords.
Thanks! Regarding fielding, in 17 and years past, you never felt like you had to dive or make a great catch as an outfielder. Everything was very routine and mundane. Is this year different?

              Yes

You will learn quickly that balls you got to previously with ease, will now require you to either take a different angle or moreso, lay out for the all to attempt to make the catch.

Fielding this year is a thing of beauty. It can be frustrating at first because you are so used to plays just being made, but no the case this year.

Re: Difference between MLB 17 vs MLB 18

I didn't play 16 or 17 that much as I took a break from MLB games. But this year's game is the best version I have ever played.

I'm not huge on presentation, I like cutscenes at times and walkups but with a baby taking up a lot of time, I have to rush through most games.

Gameplay is much, much better. I only played half a season on 17 but 18 is very much improved. My first few games I missed multiple ground balls because you actually have to field them instead of the CPU directing your player now.

Hitting, I am seeing a lot more variety and the ball physics make each hit unique. I used sliders to help with CPU pitching and it's been great since then.

Anyway now with ps4, i will be getting mlb18 cant wait!

Dang you CB, this post of yours makes me now want the game I went with OOTP19, and while Im definitely not disappointed with it, as its amazing for any hard core baseball fan, I do miss actually playing the games, instead of just managing and/or playing GM. Not sure I could talk my wife into getting MLBTS18, or atleast not till the price drops, as I had told her if I ended up wanting 18, I would wait for a price drop of the game, and to make sure Franchise has improved, since its all I play.

Can you tell me whats new in Franchise mode. As in Spring Training, improvements, in the way Managers manage during the spring, or is it the same old crap, and did they add in more ST'ing ballparks? Also doe the AI manager make better decisions? Plus how is sim stats looking in Franchise mode? Thanks

Maybe Elvis will return after giving 3 innings of test to OOTP at his buddy's house and try to convince us all it's the same as OOTP 17
