As a Rockies fan, thank you thank you thank you for you guys getting the new giant scoreboard at Coors Field in the game. I got to witness that giant beauty in person two weeks ago and I was sad at the thought of having to wait until next March to see it during home games in my franchise. Franchise is going to kick *** this year looking at that huge scoreboard every time I bat.

I know this belongs more in the uniform corrections thread, but just wanted to try and get this to you since I know you’re in here. The Phillies are the only team left that needs their red fixed. Here is a shot of them with the other teams they’re supposed to match up with. Thanks, man!

Played a few games post patch. Man the outfielders are terrible. Letting balls go by righr next to them. Diving for every single flyball and missing. ALOT of inside the park home runs.

On a side note I wish they could add new players names in updates. like gleyber and acuna.

Infield defense has absolutely improved post patch 1.09. Silky smooth and looks great. I play auto field/manual button ratings based throwing.

Amazing job on this game offline.

Online it has never played better too.

The only online games I play are in my OS Supporters DD League.

The game still does not feel like offline when you play online. But the servers and connections are stable. I will get an occasional laggy moment in the field. But 17 was atrocious online and 18 has been fun.

I'm not sure how you can say the infield defense is silky smooth when you play auto fielding. The manual fielding and auto fielding components are VASTLY different. The CPU defense (and likewise the auto defense) of course are going to be silky smooth. The issue many of us are having is with the manual defense. I will admit, since patch 1.09, the infielders have more of a sense of urgency, which is a welcome fix. I've only played one game post 1.09 patch so let's hope this trend continues.

Because you can comment on the behavior of the players...?

If anything, it would remove any "do better on the sticks" because...well...it's the game's behavior and that's it.

So if the fielders play incorrectly, it's not me making the poor play. It's clearly the fielder AI.

That's why folks can comment and why they still have value.

Yes, but naturally the CPU is going to play smoother defense than the user. As I just stated, the issue many of us were having was with manual fielding, getting to balls and having the animations kick in to actually catch the ball. The throwing mechanic hasn't really been the issue for me. The issue for me has been outfielders missing grounders toward walls (as shown in a video in another thread), infielders lack of urgency in throwing balls, etc. To say fielding is silky smooth when you use auto fielding is not giving the full story because you're not utilizing the full capabilities of fielding.

I too use auto fielding and what I believe Armor is saying (and I concur) is that auto fielding (and CPU fielding) looks even better. No judgments are being made or implied with respect to user fielding, which is why the distinction was identified.

I use manual fielding with Armor's exact sliders and my fielders are nice and silky, except when I expletive it up personally lol.

Think my sleeve comment may have gotten buried.

Haven't we been able in the past to adjust jersey sleeve length for actual players and not just created players?

Went to shorten up Folty's sleeve last night but cant touch any SDS players sleeves.

Maybe I was mistaken and we never could, but I really thought we could before.

                    Re: Patch 1.09 is Live

I've played on manual fielding since day one. Out of the box I found the fielding to be smooth and the best the series has offered. After patch 1.08 when they helped with infielders and balls just over their heads, I don't see anything the CPU can do that I can't do. I don't see a difference in the fielding between CPU and User. It looks the same to me.

I haven't had the issue of fielders not picking up the ball. I have yet to see a ball be dropped on a routine fly ball. In my experience thus far, there hasn't been anything that has happened to me that hasn't happened to the CPU.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                      Re: Patch 1.09 is Live

My one and only game since patch release was rather strange in some areas and I don't know if it even has anything to do with the patch.

I was playing the Yankees in my Rangers franchise but the first baseman Tyler Austin for the Yankees had 3 different occasions where the ball hit right in the mitt and he just dropped the ball. This was all before the 5th inning as well. Maybe they were trying to give me some easy runs , it didn't help as they still kicked my *** and pulled away when it got to the late innings.

They also had 4 or 5 base hits that were flairs to the opposite field just into no mans land. That was so frustrating as that happened on some really good pitches. Sometimes you just get beat but damn it seemed to happen a bit too frequently.

Infield plays definitely seemed smoother with bit more urgency, the outfielders still no sense of urgency though. I'm on manual fielding.

I don't know just one game, I'll give it few more before I break out the pitch forks!

I have to say that this patch has improved the infield animations a lot. Every defensive play I see in a real baseball game I see happening in this game as well. This is truly the best MLBTS I ever played.

Also, the game will punish you if you do not put a good defensive player as a replacement to your main "star" position player(s). For example, I had a game where I needed 1st baseman Matt Olsen to sit out a game due to fatigue and I replaced him with Chad Pinder thinking he would be decent enough at 1B because his secondary positions were 3B, 2nd base and outfield but it was a mistake!. He kept booting balls and making errors! I realised I made a mistake and looked at my roster again and saw that Stephen Piscotty who was playing right field has a secondary position for 1B and switch positions and no more errors!.. You really need to do your research in your roster on what players are good at a particular defensive positions. Make sure they have a secondary position that matches that position they are playing!!..I like this feature!

They did this on purpose to stop the cheesers on line.
If the person doesn’t have 1b designated he’ll drop/boot almost every throw.

Framerate and overall smoothness seems a lot better post patch...Also they need to fix the LED ribbon board at Yankee Stadium in the center field section just to the left and right of the batters eye...They dont work

Played two games since the patch and did not have a single HR by myself or the CPU in either of the games

Neither I nor the CPU had hit a bomb in 4 games, then I just hit a three run jack earlier, followed by a grand slam from the CPU, and then two solo shots, all before the 6th innning.

Also my buddy just texted me: he went back-to-back twice with the same two guys in one game in his franchise.

It’s just the normal ebbs and flows of baseball. I’m thankful it’s not a constant homerun fest all the time as it kinda felt that way before the patches, and early on last year as well. SDS always seems to find the right balance in the end.
