Also you can see that not only are we hitting homeruns, but there were doubles, even a triple, and you can see the roller coaster ride that was this game to where I jumped out, the CPU came back and then I rallied in the 8th, and so did they, but I rallied again in the 9th to win the game.

If I knew how to do videos I would share videos as well to show that I'm not experiencing issues with fielding.

Hopefully those who view me as making stuff up because I'm not experiencing the negatives that others are will find this satisfactory.
Truly, incredibly sad if people are doing that. But not unexpected with the way some people act around here.

That looks like an amazing game. Personally I can't get the offense up to levels like that (for me OR the CPU) without lowering fielder speed a few clicks, but it's awesome that you manage games like that on straight default legend.

Yeah my offense has gotten better after hiring a new hitting coach. We are dead last in batting average and actually dead last in doubles as well. As crazy as it is, we are in the Top 10 (tied for 7th) in triples and Top 10 (tied for 9th) in homeruns.

Hopefully the slider tweaks you've made are providing you with as much fun and variety of games as I am experiencing.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Dang, I haven't had a game like that in a while. I'm not convinced one way or the other especially after seeing that but .....here's my experience so far at least.

I've not hit a single homerun since the patch on All-Star which has been six games. The Yankees Sanchez did hit a couple against me in that series and 1 so far in the Royals series I'm currently in but nada for me. To be fair I did lose Gallo and Guzman just before the patch which probably has more to do with the drought than anything else. I also beat the Royals 9-1 without a single homerun which I thought was weird but certainly not out of the realm of possibility as I'm playing with quite a few backups at the moment.

Of course my experience is not yours, but like CB I'm not seeing any sort of power outage. In this test franchise I've been playing/streaming I've hit 10 homeruns in 5 games (actually 4, because I didn't hit any in the 5th game). That said...all 4 of those games were against the Marlins, and the 5th game is the only one where the CPU had any sort of decent pitching.

And I'm not even alone - Houston's hit the same number in simmed games.

I still feel like if I get ahead in the count and get a pitch I'm looking for, or adjust to a mistake pitch floating over the middle, I can hit a HR with just about anyone in the Cubs lineup. Getting those pitches to hit (especially on Legend) is the real challenge.

Do you get consistent pitching from your team on default legend? I had good to very good success thru a month and a half in my franchise on this setting but for the last few weeks ive been getting shelled. Some games im lucky to get the pitcher out with any consistency.

You don't need to justify it. I'm in the same boat. Look, I never begin a franchise season until I take the new game for a long slow test drive. There are levels and options and sliders that I need to adjust to get ME into what I consider a reasonable baseball sim experience. I NEVER use someone else's "realism sliders", "best sim sliders" because those slider don't take into my ability as a gamer.

The patch isn't out ten minutes until somebody is posting how they aren't doing this, or that, how the game has changed. I have a player who, last year in my carry over franchise was my starting center fielder. This year he could barely make the Mendoza line and he got benched and plays occasionally, until recently and now he's come on fire. Do I try to figure it out? Nope.

I haven't changed a single slider/level. I'm 25-24 in my franchise. I wonder how many guys would be quarreling with that if that was their record? But, I'm absolutely fine with it as the games and game play have been nothing but the best of this series. Stats looked in line, except I just noticed that my pitcher WHIPs might be a little low, so I'll make a minor tweak in the sliders and I'm rollin again. Other than that.......

If you come here and you post something so questionable (like balls right down the middle of the plate being called balls) then you are just giving positive feed back, but when you give rebuttals you ought to be able to do it without being called a fan boy.

              Anyway.....

Hey look I believe you and CB as well, hard to argue with that screenshot. Even with my power outage I've won 4 straight which means there's an implosion right around the corner. Teams go through stretches like this especially when they've lost their best 2 power hitters. I still have Choo and Beltre but they don't have the pop those other 2 guys have. This is what I have to remind myself of, but hey chicks dig the long ball right!

It's funny you mention the part I've highlighted. This is my first edition of the show since PS3 days and one thing I've noticed more and more as I play this game is how it seems to reward for working the count much like real baseball, they've done an outstanding job with this but you also have to be ready to jump on a first pitch fastball right in the wheelhouse in the right situation. I don't remember this being done so well in the previous versions I've played. I'm hitting on All Star with default sliders and using dynamic difficulty on pitching.

I'm convinced 90% of "changes" people find in patches (whether The Show, nab2k, whatever) are placebo effect.

AT&T Park could also use an updated video board layout. The game still uses the 2016 version, and the Giants have made some tweaks over the past couple of seasons, mostly in regards to the middle portion. They also added the MVR (mound visits remaining) stat where left on base used to be recorded.

I would say I do. I lead the majors in strikeouts and am in the Top 10 in both ERA and HR Allowed. I am mid-pack or lower in hits allowed though.

For the most part my staff is pretty consistent but there are days or several days where it seems as though the staff is in a funk and we get rocked a bit. But we always seem to right the ship sooner rather than later.

@countryboy What control method do you use for pitching? I just moved up to Legend for pitching and having a bit of trouble getting K’s with Analog, but that’s probably just me being bad with the stick.

I use meter pitching. I do have the ball marker on.

Ditto here btw, on both - knowing exactly where you want to aim is really important on Legend because you pretty much have to aim farther outside of the zone than you want the ball to actually go.. I use Zone hitting too.
