While to me this isn't a huge deal breaker, I do see how it could be for some. I mean, we can already edit the players ratings during franchise, why stop there? Give us full control of service time and everything else.

I'm about to start my postseason in 2 weeks. What's the issue?

What someone showed me was on Aug 31, get all the games out of the way (sim the last minor league game) but don't advance. Then bring up to your active MLB team all the players you want to have eligible for the post season. Then roll the day over to Sept 1 and send those players back down (you can't expand rosters until the minor league regular season ends so you are still limited on Sept 1 to a 25 man roster).Comment

Only players on the 25 man active roster as the clock rolls from Aug 31 to Sept 1 are playoff eligible.

Ah. So I'm screwed for first season. But thanks for the heads up!

IF they don't change anything in 19, at least you'll be aware of this trick for next season's post season prep.Comment

Re: I am tired of all these roster restrictions!
editing the service time is probably some legal matter. remember in madden when you used to be able to create NON rookies?? then when EA blew the game apart and took everything out, they changed it so you can only create rookies??
It's very frustrating and glaring to see the R next to a 35 year old. unless we spend hours getting service time for a player playing around with exporting and importing from older games to move across. it's to much work.Comment

and maybe it will be...but for those who don't know about the concern and want to work around it this is a way to do it. We say it every year, we hope for it every year and maybe one day it gets done...but at least there is a work around.Comment

Question. Say a guy is on 60 day DL and comes off Mid-September. Does that mean he isn't eligible with this glitch?

but yeah it's a joke we have to do all this stuff it was like the Ohtani trick of sending a player up and down to have him DH. won't work this year as they won't make him a pitcher.Comment

Re: I am tired of all these roster restrictions!
Actually if a player was on the MLB roster and was put on the DL and comes off in September he should be eligible. In fact before learning the bring em put /send em down trick that was how i brought in more players for post season. if a player was injured near the end of august I put them on the DL. When they came off they were eligible. It should work with those on the sixty day as well. Mind you this was with 17 but I think it works with 18 too. Can you see in the rosters with 18 who is PSE? The key to this trick if they are now in AAA and want them available is bring them to the majors then DL them. Also in September if a player is still hurt but eligible to come off the DL take them off and have them sit. I think if a player is still on the DL when the season ends again the game then doesn't allow them to play in post season.Comment

Best thing to do is to make a save game before Sept 1 and try out either method and see what it gets you.Comment

Re: I am tired of all these roster restrictions!
As long as the player is hurt while on your MLB roster they will be eligible. At least they were for me in 18. But if they were injured in AAA or AA they will not be eligible for the post season.

Re: I am tired of all these roster restrictions!
if there was a easy way to kill that R icon I would make entire rosters for mlb 18 or come close to not even bothering about mlb 19
If I want to make Ohtani right now. and keep using mlb 18 he would be going for rookie of the year again. even if I wanted to create him from scratch I would still be stuck with the stupid R icon when he isn't. and I would like to keep his audio tracks.
I actually wouldn't care about career stats that much. I would take career stats out in order to be able to edit our own service time. so we can create our own unlimited roster.
so let us choose the audio that is built in the game. edit service time.. and we could create our own rosters from the ground up..
well then we wouldn't need to buy 19 then would we?Comment
