If I want to make Ohtani right now. and keep using mlb 18 he would be going for rookie of the year again. even if I wanted to create him from scratch I would still be stuck with the stupid R icon when he isn't. and I would like to keep his audio tracks.

I actually wouldn't care about career stats that much. I would take career stats out in order to be able to edit our own service time. so we can create our own unlimited roster.

so let us choose the audio that is built in the game. edit service time.. and we could create our own rosters from the ground up..

well then we wouldn't need to buy 19 then would we?
If its anything like Madden, the 2 should be linked.

Madden has an ID linked to a number of different 'files' if you will.

Service time would/should/could correlate directly to seasons stats and accumulated franchise stats.

I would settle for one without the other. NO question! But it would be great to have both. The whole point of a retro franchise IS to chase down some of the big records. Hank Aaron. Roger Maris. Nolan Ryan. Pete Rose. Half a players stats missing takes a big wet bite out of that.

But actually entering the stats is brutal. I did that with a Madden Franchise. WITH an excel spreadsheet, and it was mind numbing. Going player by player.. 25 man rosters.. just using the game interface..... brutal. People would do it. But it will be brutal.

At least with carryover saves, the work only has to be done once!
    You want free speech?
Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours.

I really hope they included spring training invitees this year 🤞

Even madden took away the ability (like a lot of other things when CFM came out) to have created players you can only create rookies with the joke of a create a player system that has.

anyway onto somehow using MLB 18 without players having the rookie icon. the ONLY way would be to slip an entire year. then biggest issue is then gonna be stopping players retiring so they stay in the game, turning injuries off and hope the CPU doesn't call up any minors to ruin any service time for rookies being legit. It's just to much work.

Every year I find myself wasting hours taking videos and having to create the players in franchise mode because their is no import player option. I try and put in about 50 random players with service time over the fake ones. just so the annoying rookie icon won't show.

case in point Brett Anderson wasn't in the game last year. I had already started my franchise. this is a vetran with years of service time. at this part of the game I had ran out of guys with service time that were editable. so I was screwed trying to get him in my game, unless he was a Rookie.
