That’s where I’m at too. Honestly, I’m just happy we have a baseball game that’s this good. Looking at the competition, or rather lack thereof, we’re pretty lucky. Yes, there’s always room for improvement (I posted my main gripes earlier in the thread), but if you constantly dwell on the flaws, you’ll never be happy. Just got to try to enjoy the game for what it is and hope next year will see the improvements you long for.
After 150 games, I can honestly say the show 18 has been an utter disappointment...

Pad,
In the Slider Vault - “Stealys TrueSimV3.1”. I used the OSFM Hybrid Roster with pitch edits.
Play a few games and see what you think. Might be something to freshen it up for you.

I have been playing The Show since 08, and while in love the series I have repeatedly said in say the last 5 years or so that Sports games need to get off the Yearly release cycle and go to a 2 year cycle with a Roster updates and Patches every non release year so the Devs have time to correctly fix issues. Having said that I know that will realistically never happen. But to me that would be the ideal way for Sports franchises

These are the normal, every day animations I come across. Honestly, I really have no words to describe just how bad these are. I remember back in the ps2 and ps3 days, before we were able to readily catch videos of these things, people would constantly berate us and ask us to capture video evidence. Now we can and this is still happening on a regular basis. These things simply need to be totally eradicated from the game before I can even remotely consider it a sim game.

I'm not going to get involved with the discussion in this thread, I'm just going to ask one simple question. I'll leave it to you to figure out why I'm asking it.
Is that Justin Upton in those two clips?Comment

While I can’t say that I don’t see what your seeing I still believe the positives far outweigh the negatives when it comes to gameplay and animations. I’ve probably played about 100 games so far and still have “oh my” moments.
Just curious but you say you’v played 150 games so you must be enjoying some aspect of the game. What are the positives for you?MLB: TORONTO BLUE JAYS

for awhile I wondered if my main reason for playing the Show was because its baseball.but then I played RBI last year. nope. couldnt take it. yeah, its baseball. but its not enjoyable IMO. I might feel different if I only owned an X-Box. its like retro-mode in the Show. once you've had steak, its hard to go back to eating baloney every dayOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: After 150 games, I can honestly say the show 18 has been an utter disappointment.
I just wanted to chime in to say that I wholeheartedly agree with just about everything the OP has said in this thread. I've been playing The Show now for 10 years, and it seems like always the same things in these forums. Long time users (and general lovers of the game) express their frustration with the games' more obvious and ridiculous shortcomings, many that are often legacy issues for YEARS AND YEARS, and people pile in to drown out their valid complaints with noise about how they don't agree...as if somehow someone expressing their frustration is an an affront to the game and it's creators.
I love this game, but when you continuously see the exact same legacy issues for over 5 years now, you begin to ask yourself what the developers are doing. Unfortunately, I can see the writing on the wall...and although this game is still a tremendous baseball game, it seems the focus will be on developing the "Ultimate Team"-like mode of Diamond Dynasty because it generates micropurchases. With that, the game is going to cater more to that crowd, who generally accept more arcade-like gameplay (all players All-Stars or Legends, ridiculous uniforms with pick stirrups and black socks, etc.). Just having that realization is a bummer for someone who roots for realism in their sports games. Players like me are not prioritized anymore in this game. They're trying to serve too many masters.Comment

Legacy issues would still exist even without DD. Maybe fewer of them, but they would still be there. Because updating the game in any significant way in a 1 year cycle is impossible.
Updating the engine is a fiscal impossibility. A small studio like SDS would die instantly without iterations every year. Just look at how much the pace of new features is crushed every time they have to switch consoles. They'd be releasing a worse game if they made an engine swap.
By today's standards, a 1 year development cycle is insanity. The fact that they are even able to make small, iterative improvements each year is impressive.Comment
