The answer is yes, but it's a long answer and this thread covered a lot of it already. I'll sum it up though. The developers would have needed to focus more on the core of the game and offline modes. I doubt they did that.

If you have not played 18 hard core I don’t know how you could think the game is the same.

The gameplay is freaking out of this world better on 18 compared to 15.

    Offline franchise mode.

are you still playing 15? if yes, then instead of 19 maybe get 18 for $20 (or cheaper). If you arent playing 15 anymore and haven't in a long while, I think you'll be fine skipping 18 & 19. and 20.

If RTTS still has caps on ratings. I hate having to increase my cap. I like having archetypes and it should be expanded but not being able to pursue a 99 in plate vision and discipline is bothersome (Weird right?). I also think it's weird to do all that stuff for the scout at the beginning and then have your base ratings influence by your decision on which type of player you want to be.

Also, if Franchise isn't improved. Scouting could be improved (like the blue chippers idea, but that should be changed to highly regarded draft prospects, not all of them pan out), rosters could be expanded, trades could be expanded, more stats could be tracked, things could be changed such as adding games of note that happen during the season (this feature was on All-Star Baseball on the PS2, it basically noted games in the season if someone had a no-hitter, 4 HR game, Cycle, etc.), more in-depth gold glove awarding other than giving the tie on alphabetical order (brb always an Oriole or Brave winning gold glove), improvement of the Morale system (tired of taking hits due to salary, can't sign players under control without or call up prospects because they're upset at the salary that players of their service time usually get).

Basically, if there isn't improvement to the offline modes, this may be the first year I don't buy a baseball game.

I haven't played 18, but from what I've seen, nothing ground-breaking was added. I understand the gameplay is better though. Maybe I'll pick that up this year instead of 19. I'm still willing to buy 19.

I play it very infrequently. I may get 18 for cheap instead of 19.

For me, if there are no improvements to Franchise mode I don't think I will buy it. I live in Franchise mode and literally don't play any other modes and personally I could live with playing MLB 18 again with some updated rosters.

To echo the majority, this year will be another pass for me unless franchise mode receives significant attention.

Definitely, I want to see some visual improvements or I might just wait until PS5 to be honest.

This too I would like some franchise improvements. I want to really feel like it is a season. I hate that the sim aspect has been dying in this game for online play.

                      Hey SDS dev team,

if you are indeed reading these threads... you must see how much offline franchise means to us... don't let it be an afterthought through the dev cycle every year... put as many resources into it and time as you would any other mode... please... this is OUR passion...

                      Thank you,

It's little things for me this year. If Target Field does not have its new juniper wall out in center field I will have no need to get it at launch. While things like that are harder to do because of time, it's a huge immersion breaker for me if not in.

Other visual things with the field and animations and what not can be pretty immersion breaking too. I will have to see some improvement in those things. We are long past the PS3 days now, so I expect a lot out of the game.

It’s already a must buy because of the fact the Marlins removed the obnoxious homerun thing [emoji38]
