Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
I’ll probably be buying either way, but it’s normally an automatic preorder for me but I’ll probably wait for a price drop or PSN sale unless there are some improvements for franchise. It’s been the same for many years without even fixing known glitches with the exception of the morale system implemented in 2017 which is fairly shallow and has issues.
For example, when I bring up a player from the minors who’s a rookie his contract doesn’t update to major league minimum as it should, causing the player to lose attributes because he’s upset about his contract. This is something that should have been addressed year 1 of the morale system but wasn’t even fixed for 2018. There’s also the well known issue of receiving a message your team doesn’t have money available to offer a FA a contract when there’s ample player salary budget available. This has been a well known issue for years that SCEA chooses to ignore. Still a very vanilla contract system and inability of mid season extensions. It’s 2019 and The Show is the only major sports game to not include such basic functions. It’s getting old.
My personal pet peeve is the CPU not signing top draft picks. You don’t even have to draft well because every offseason there’s at least 5 A potential players from the draft the CPU simply chose not to sign for whatever poorly programmed reason.
I know, not many care about offline anymore as DD is all the rave. Unfortunately for myself, or more actually fortunate and blessed, my wife and I had our first child this past summer, and with me never knowing when he’ll need my 110% attention, I’ve decided to mainly offline game lately instead of not being able to finish half the games I start. So here’s to hoping we can get a halfway decent franchise mode.

I dont recall a reason being given. I really hope SDS just thought it was redundant because of franchise mode and didnt take into account season modes ability to shorten the schedule length. Which could explain why it wasnt mentioned before release last year. Also, shorter season aside, some of would have liked to carryover our season file just like we were able to do since 14. Which would be one hell of a major oversight. And that gives me hope it'll be easy to put back in.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

This shoulda been fixed, wth..is this the new trend to get people to buy your game?
Hold out hot fixes and save until the next installment? Man this is disgusting and very disturbing to me. I thought I seen similar situations last year but I kinda set back on it.
Utterly disappointed, and I dont even wanna here that same ol, we had to transition into this fix because of limited time with hardware. Man o man...Last edited by StormsWarning; 01-18-2019, 06:09 AM.I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
which leads me back yet again to why should this even be an issue? I mean seriously they go all year long, claiming to patch this and patch that, and now that the game is q month away from release it's all of sudden fixed?

The more options the better tbh, for single player modes the more players can customise their own experience the better. Like how they should add the option of no caps in RTTS, so the players that don't want to follow a certain archetype don't have to.Comment

Tbh, if they don't have the time or will to fix morale then simply making an option to turn it off would suffice tbh. In it's current state it really doesn't add anything to the game really and just causes problems.

I agree renegotiation needs to be in for sure. That or just do away with the morale system all together.Comment

Re: Is there anything that would make you skip MLB The Show 19?
For me the question is backwards.
What will make me buy 19?
I am not spending 60 dollars on a Roster update, I've done the DD thing 2 years in a row now, I want to spend 2019 in franchise.
If the add some more classic stadiums. Specifically any one of the cookie cutter parks, Riverfront, three rivers, etc. Or create a stadium feature usable in franchise.
Or
A significant amount of new Reds Legends. Eric Davis, Paul O'Neill, Chris Sabo, Frank Robinson, etc.
Other than that I am passing this year and will buy 20Comment

One thing would stop me.
I worked my butt off on creating legendary players in my (2018) franchise. If the ability to import that franchise to the next game (2019) wasn't offered I wouldn't buy the new game.
It would be great if the boys at San Diego would let us transfer our customized teams to Franchise, Season and Roster.
All these would be nice and would offer great flexibility.
