Haha people not complaining in this day and age is impossible, no matter how good the game is.

I mean this has been true for awhile. It is funny how it used to be people would complain about little stupid things like my teams socks in the game are medium light blue when they are really dark light blue. I am just glad to see people are finally seeing that the Show needs major change

Honestly, if ofsm dies and no one steps in and replaces it, Franchise mode is pretty dead regardless of what SDS do. I don't think I'd buy the Show if I couldn't play franchise with the proper prospects. It's just too big a part of why I play the game

I read somewhere that ridin’ jumped to OOTP. I hope he returns but he said he was done posting on OS.

I'm out on MLB 19 this year...the staleness really hit hard for me last year, playing MLB 18.

I used to be a Franchise and RTTS-only guy, but I stopped playing them pretty quickly last year. Just the same thing, over and over again. The "Phases" feature in Franchise was nothing more that a re-ordering of things in the menus. RTTS was broken...went from AA to MLB, was in the starting lineup for a few months, then was benched and never played after that.

I went ahead and dove into DD then, enjoyed it for a while, then got sick of the grinding and the odd way some programs were released.

I picked up NBA 2K19 this year...the first NBA game I had since 2014. The Franchise/MyLeague in that game is pretty awesome compared to MLB (NBA has relocation/expansion, offseason rule changes, number retirements, ability to set prices for tickets, concessions, etc.).

It would take serious Franchise upgrades that would compare to NBA 2K to get me back to considering MLB The Show 19.

How is it possible to be "out" on a game you know literally nothing about?

Well, after my experience with their product last year and the years preceding it, I am not motivated to purchase this year's game. I bought all MLB games from 16-18 (along with PS3 versions from 09-13), and recently began to see a pattern of staleness and lack of offline mode innovation. Diamond dynasty was getting the attention from the developers, and even that wasn't something that I enjoyed long term.

I just reached a point now where I am fine without buying the game each year. Perhaps, with massive updates to the modes I care about, I'll be back on board in the future. But I am not expecting that to happen in this year's game.

Maybe I will be proven wrong - I truly hope that I am. The Show is one of my all time favorite game series. I would hate to see it lose what made it such a great game - focus on the details and "small things", as well as robust offline modes that I'd play for hours.

Ridin won't be working on OSFM rosters anymore for the Show.

Whether others within the group will keep it going remains to be seen.

They will have to do something more than put window dressing on Franchise mode to get me to buy this game this year. With no OSFM, if its the same stale franchise mode, I think its gonna be a no go this year. Hopefully this isn't the case, and this is the year they decided to put more resources into Franchise mode development. I'll be surprised if it is though. We'll probably get a clue soon when they release their dev blog schedule. Last few years the franchise blogcast has been the last to be released, with that info coming out just a week or two before the games actual release. Its obvious they didn't want to affect preorders by talking about Franchise mode and just saying "its the same as last year". If they release the schedule this year and franchise mode is again going to be discussed just days before the games release, I'd beware.

Trailers about 'Bartolo Colon' that tell us nothing.

                            To answer the original.

From the time I was about 10 years old in the late 90s on the ps1 and n64 I have purchased a mlb game ever single year. Until last year (not counting ootp as it is a text Sim). At this point the question for me is "is there anything that would make me not skip a playable baseball game for just the second time in my gaming life". This franchise (see what I did there) needs to show substantial improvement before I will return as a customer.

For me if their is not some kind of drastic addition to franchise play there is no reason for me to buy 19. Its the same game as far as franchise mode goes each year and that is really what I play so why upgrade?

This game has been stale since 2010 and for some reason I continue to buy the game. I'm done now.. I have been waiting for create a team outside of stupid DD and every year I'm disappointed. There's only so many times you can play the same game for 15 years.
