How do you promote a baseball video game without showing any baseball? Well done.

At this point who really gets excited for any of this? Even if you’re a all about DD the info out right now is not doing much for you, I’d imagine.

And furthermore, how do you work on this game and feel proud anymore about where your product is heading? How do you keep a straight face when trying to push this mandate?

If your company thinks that the game of baseball isn’t enough to sell itself to its audience then perhaps they shouldn’t be in the business of making baseball games anymore. Quit trying to make it addictive for the compulsive and selling your souls out for the quick buck. You’ve gotten where you’re at now by hard work, great gameplay, and passion. Don’t forget where you’ve come from, or else you won’t know how to get back to it when this cash cow balloon pops. Cause it eventually will.

How does he keep a straight face? Easy. Ramone probably got a heft raise once DD caught on. You can tell from that video, as well as the streams from the last couple of years how bored he is and how little passion he has for this game anymore. I doubt Ramone even plays the game anymore.

I think I’ll just carry on with my exciting 18 franchise and play 18, I’ve not seen anything to persuade me to buy the new version and this screenshot is the clincher.

I like Ramone, but he never came off as a big baseball fan to begin with. He seems to have learned a lot over the years, so I’ll give him credit, but I remember him saying he’d never heard of Harry Caray a few years back. He doesn’t have a favorite team, so it’s likely he didn’t grow up around the game and this job got him into the sport.

He often gets agitated dealing with fans of the sport or game that want to discuss real issues pertaining to likeness and replication. And seems to be bored or exhausted during the streams, at times. Seems like a cool guy from when I’ve dealt with him, but doubt his passion is hardball in the way it is for a lot of us. Just has a cool job and gets to do stuff that most people would kill to do on the reg. I can relate, with my line of work, actually. You get jaded no matter what you do, eventually.

I like the game we play around OS each year now with all of this marketing where a few people insist we “just wait until” this date or video/stream before claiming doom. And then that date or stream drops and it’s no more clear or better and they push that date back. And repeat.

Well that’s very depressing. Nothing new under franchise just shows that it will likely be the same as last year. Probably going to pass on this years game even if there are good gameplay improvements.
