Well I am not sure how I feel about the mini games and challenges. But I am excited for the CAPS being all 99 and letting us be the player we want to be.

Well I am not sure how I feel about the mini games and challenges. But I am excited for the CAPS being all 99 and letting us be the player we want to be.

I was not happy with them either but happy to hear that they are not required.

I didn't like the caps either, it totally deterred me from playing road to the show in 2018. I am glad the caps are gone and actually what I hope they might do is make some attributes harder to improve on for certain player types. For example a contact archetype would have to train twice as hard to improve his power attribute.

I like the sound of some of the ideas (fixing the CAP's being the most obvious) but it will all be very reliant on what's under the hood. If progression hasn't improved, or if the team is still constantly changing your position, trading you randomly, benching you for inferior players, then it doesn't really matter if I had a nice chat with Jedd Gyorko.

That's one of the reasons franchise needs to get fixed tbh, as the logic that runs in the background of RTTS is basically franchise but without any ability to calm down the craziness. So hopefully the push for RTTS is going to include a serious improvement to all aspects of AI, as that would hugely bolster franchise and RTTS.

This and hopefully finally getting rotating IL schedules would go a long way toward convincing me to grind a RTTS career again.

Realistically, there’s probably a better chance MLB gets rid of interleague play, than SDS get IL schedules to rotate.

Hoping on Thursday they reveal that we can select our team again instead of hoping they happen to draft us randomly. Never got the Twins on 18.

Considering Acrhtypes are there still you probably can;t be a two way player, let alone has me thinking two way players still wont be properly used.

The main problem with their logic in RTTS was because you were stuck as a C potential for eternity, so the CPU AI treated you like a C potential player even if you were an all star.

Seeing in the video that they are still doing the late round storyline it could definitely still be an issue in this years...

Unless they allow you to choose your storyline (early rounds pick, late round pick, etc.), though I doubt it

I'm probably in the small minority that actually enjoyed blending in with the rest of baseball and having a player that filled a specific niche (as opposed to having 99's in everything), but I'm sure they heard the feedback that more people want RTTS to be more of a fantasy experience. Hence the return of the All-99 player.

It's fine with me, as long as I can still adjust my growth to make it similar to last year's caps (and I should be able to as long as I screenshot the '18 archetypes and refer back to that when deciding which stats to raise cap on).

I'm interested when they say there's a minigame that teaches how to use the PCI "better" - I'm pretty set in my ways when it comes to that but I'm always open to what the devs are saying about the mechanics they designed themselves.
