disappointed that i didn't hear them speak about players being stuck with at D potential and it possibly correcting itself when it gets carried over to 19

the player models look horrible as ever

look like they may have gotten rid of social media

I enjoyed the stream. I am counting down the days for this game to drop. It was also pretty cool to see Mills and a few others are put into the game. I am not a big RTTS player (more of a franchise guy), but I will be giving it a try this year.

The vitriol from some of us long time supporters stems from the fact that for years mlb the show was about authentic sim MLB experience. They didn't try and cater to a certain crowd and stuck to their beliefs.

But the last few years it honestly feels like they are trying to be fortnite with bats and gloves.

It's a minor things, but I don't like them finding yet another aspect to slide into their stubs/card pack setup (HR Celebrations). As long as they aren't too rare or if maybe only the wackier ones are locked, then it's not too much of a thing, I guess.

I like the mini-games as an optional addition. I like the hard caps being removed. I like adding personality to your player...BUT, my disappointment is in the way it's been added.

I like the idea of making the perk system more immersive and integrating it into your character as a whole. I'm all for RPG elements in career modes. That said, it really feels shallow as it doesn't seem to change much in terms of your "story" or progression as a big leaguer, but is simply a means to an end. Better packaged, to be sure, which I'm certainly appreciative of...but I just felt it could be more than essentially a perk tie-in.

I would much prefer personality be tied to trade and contract value, team and league standing (perhaps Captains and Heart and Souls being more valuable to their current team/less likely to be traded. Mavericks and Lightning Rods maybe being considered splashier signings for teams trying to get over the hump, or something along those lines.), and some type of team chemistry tie-in...all of which could benefit across multiple modes and be baked into the rest of the roster as well, making for a more immersive league (which, for me at least, is the bigger immersion issue in both RTTS and franchise).

I dunno...it's fine...not dumping on it. Maybe it's something that will be built on and branch out...just not as excited now that I see how it's implemented, is all.

I'm still meh about '19. While some of the changes to RttS looks ok, I'm still on the fence about it. Maybe if they mention a complete overhaul to the records to break, in-game stats, etc., I might consider it more to purchase. Right now...I'm just meh.

They moved me a little closer towards buying the game this year. But I still want to see more. I think Moments and possibly March To October will be the deciding factors for me. In DD I need a compelling reason to play offline.

And I agree with the records in RTTS there are so many tracked these days that including more goals to shoot for. Most Doubles in a Season, Triples, Walks, etc etc.

I love how you point this out. Even though this particular mode isnt my cup of tea, it is pretty extraordinary how much work and NEW things they put into it. I really havent done a career mode since NCAA football series, that being said, I would actually give this mode a real go at it. With that said, I would expect ALL of the developers and engineers on this project to be dead tired. 80 hour work week to go along with the OTHER full time job of being a Dad and husband is pretty draining. Regardless of how one feels about the product, respect the process that goes into at least MAKING the product. I dont any illusions of the staff being put on this earth to entertain me in a promotional video cast on a feature mode. Especially since on top of being exhausted on the afore mentioned roles, I can already tell you as a hard working engineer/developer...they would rather be working on something they love than to be doing a stream. Time is lost doing such streams and some people just dont like being in front of a camera anyways. SO...all of that to say this simple fact...respect the process and the work that goes into the details of a game. Understand, that despite what happens in your house, people arent placed on this earth to motivate YOU. If you dont like what you see...move on. I did last year with MLB 18 and by the reviews and trusted posters here that was a good thing. I may jump on board this year depending on franchise. But to say the SCEA staff is lazy or unmotivated and that they NEED to somehow motivate you on their product when they work them buns off to put the best they ahve on the table...poor form folks.

I am a seasoned software developer working on a commercial auto insurance application and if I was to give a live stream of the new features of a release to my users I too may look a tad unmotivated. You folks have to understand that there is nothing easy about software development. It's like an iceberg. There is what the end users see above water and they think that is all there ever is to the application. But then there is what's below the water that nobody ever sees except the developers and like an iceberg it is massive compared to what's above water.

BTW I am a RTTS player but I have not been able to watch the stream yet so I cannot pass judgement at this time. But I am not into gimmicks.

Everything looks like it will make it a lot more fun this year. Im not big on perks. Never use them. The caps, ok cool I guess. I liked the caps because it created a weakness that every player has. I hope its still a challenge to build your player and it isnt like past games where you were in the majors before a half a year was done. I didnt play 17 rtts at all because of that. I did like 18 the best because you actually had to work your way to the bigs and it was based off how you played. 17 was ehh, got points throw them here or there and walha Im a 18 yr old major league player 5 months into my career.

if so, I won't miss it one bit. It was cool at first but got real old, real fast. Too repetitive, bit glitchy ("username" indicated fan of one team, icon said another), and at times made no sense (if I'm playing at AA for the LA Dodgers' farm team in Tulsa, why would a fan of the Giants' AA team in Richmond give a dang about me when we're in two separate leagues and never face? If they're hating on me because they're actually a fan of the Giants and not just the Flying Squirrels, then their "username" should've said as much).

I’m always excited too with new uniforms. But by curiosity I did some research. The guy in the stream played in the 1910-1920s era but the uniform seems to be the 1959 one. What is bugging me is why no number on the back ?

                          I found this....

Oops. They done messed up. But yeah, the Senators didn't wear that uniform at any point during his career (1907-1927), and not sure when they first put numbers on their backs.

This mode has come a long way. I remember the first iteration where it was impossible to get signed with an organization. Since it was basically tryouts. I remember when you could interact with the team and piss off the manager. I remember when goals weighed way too much on your progression, knock them all out and you get promoted too quickly, fail to make them and now you're playing road to the bench.

Then they removed interactions and removed goals. Definitely would be nice to start off in A ball. These additions look very interesting. Haven't delved into perks, but the mini games might be a nice change of pace to break the monotony of playing game after game.
