RTTS is my second fave mode after franchise. I usually try to play a career with a pitcher and a hitter. I was quite excited to hear that they were adding mini games to the mode for training purposes. But then I watched this stream and was very disappointed with these. I may try them out but I am already bored with them just watching the guy playing it on the stream.

I guess perks (cheats) aren’t optional anymore since they’re now tied to progression. That’s a piss off to me. I don’t want any cheats to be deciding the outcome of my game. I want to play organic baseball.

They did not look required for me. Two reasons I say that

          1. When they first went into the screen on stream he had 7 perks unlocked, including tier 3 perks in the Captains tree, but he had none equipped.

          2. There was a Reset Perk button which I assume will remove all perks so you could re-select them.

So I really don't believe perks are required.

I really like what I saw in the stream. The personality traits tree was very interesting and I really like rivalry’s and Teammates relationships playing into the story of your career.

A lot of work went into this mode this cycle. It is very evident. I played RTTS on 17, barely touched it on 18 and will transfer over my player to 19 and how see it goes....as well as start a new career from scratch. The mode looks reborn to me and has come a long way from when I first started playing it on MLB 11. A long way.

Yea it actually looks like they went in on this mode. Too bad I just don't care to play it.

I kind of thought the relationships thing looked weak. It's a good idea but the limited amount of interaction (two texts back and forth or a quick locker room talk) is underwhelming. You should be able to ask teammates to train with you or meet for dinner/drinks. Schedule team building events, that sort of stuff. With rivals you could ask them to show you the sights of their town before a game, or engage a bit more in trash talking.

Only question I ever have, every single year... do we lose our jersey number if the team we play for acquires a player with the same number? It's a deal-breaker for me and the reason I can't ever get into Road to The Show.

And no, it doesn't matter which player has the higher rating. I've had a player that's a 99 and they called up a player from the minors with my same number, the game bumped me to the next highest number. The last time I tried to really get into Road to The Show I had three different jersey numbers by June of my season. I couldn't handle it.

That is why I use my birth year. Not a lot of players have that high of a number

It may not be the first year or two, but there's more and more players with higher numbers anymore. Plus I don't want to be #79. I almost always create fictional players from movies...

It's silly that it's been in the game year after year after year.

Man, I dunno. Those weight room graphics look straight out of a PS3. That to me would kill the immersion. That said, the play on the field during the day games looks brilliant. I am playing on a 4K t.v., and it just appears there’s more separation between the players and the environment.

                          No question.

That will be exciting for about 0.5 seconds.

I thought all the backroom scenes reminded me hugely of WWF Smackdown on the ps1 (great game btw). I kept expecting to see the Rock turn up and hit someone with a chair
