Few rookies to be scanned for when they’re called up.

According to this article on espn, Vlad jr and a few other rookies will be scanned this year. This way when they are called up they will be in the game. Not sure if this is has been done before

Like your first hit or strikeout, getting pixelated is one of the game's rites of passage. Here's how it works and how players feel about it.

They've always scanned anyone they can (whoever is willing) during Spring Training. Nothing new.

Article says they sold a little over a million copies last year.

They said in the past they scanned during Spring Training, but didn’t use the scans until the game the next year. If they are using scans they are taking right now for this year’s game, it’s an improvement.

Did the article specifically say Vlads scan would be used when he’s called up this year? I’m guessing the article meant for MLB 20.

looks like for this year but read the article, maybe you'll get a better read then I did.

The scans are always a year behind unless the tech they use has suddenly changed.
                  MLB: Chicago Cubs
                  NFL: San Diego Chargers
                  NHL: Chicago Blackhawks
                  NBA: Chicago Bulls
                  NCAA: Iowa Hawkeyes

Man, this would be huge if true. It always sucks waiting until next year for rookies to get into the game.

Despite the fact that they included ohtanis scan last year and then later in the year added Clay buccholz scan, though I remember sds saying that couldn't be done few years ago. I hope I'm wrong though.

there are other sports games that add and update scans after release, but for whatever reason can't be done most of the time with mlbts. I have wondered if maybe they refuse to add scans after players are called up so that players will definitely buy the following years release because there will be new scans, though that is just a small conspiracy theory on my part,

this would be awesome if they began to add scans through roster updates, but I don't see that happening. aside from all of this, I cannot wait for 3/26.
If not this year then why even have write the article, as far as why they don’t put new scans during the year, I think SDS sees the backlash when they don’t update every player or certain players, this being 2k and madden so they just said ya know what, spare us, we’ll tell em we can’t do it and hopefully they will never bring it up again lol.

I thought it was more so the graphics artist and the time they had to work with the scan and integrate it for in-game use?

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

These are all scans for MLB 20 The Show. No rookie gets in unless you get special treatment like Ohtani. Everybody else has to wait a year.

So what your saying is vlad is already on the disk? Because it’s the only way to get a real
Player with a scan in the game not just a scea created player.

Ply obtaini has ever had the special treatment of being a real player in the game without a mlb at bat

SDS, back in 2005 with the Eye Toy, use to allow you to take a pic of yourself for your RTTS Characther on the PS2, but got rid of it with a more advance Playstation Eye on the PS3 and never looked back.
