The excuses people make for this company. I don't get it.

I feel bad for the diehards that play this game that are going to pick it up, initially be excited for a month or so..then realize it's the same song and dance as every other year. I used to be in that crowd but you can only fool the consumer so many times SDS. Now I just come into this forum once or twice a month hoping to find some exciting news, but never anything worthwhile. A shame.

Question for you since you have gone deep into your carryover franchise. Do you ever use stubs to increase budget? I never have but a couple.people are talking about needing to increase there budget in future years. I'm only 3 years into my carryover. Just wondering if you have ever had to increase your budget?

This is just par for the course of folks thinking their opinion is the only one that matters and that anybody that doesn't agree is just a fool. Just because you feel there is nothing exciting does not mean that this goes for everybody. I personally feel bad for you. Because you are so wrapped into your own entitlement that you can't simply enjoy something for what it is. I am in year 6 of my franchise and still playing 18, actually playing right now. I am looking forward to 19 and will play this one even more. So it may be the same old song and dance but it works for me and for many others. Sorry if you are too demanding that this doesn't work for you. But you need to step off your pedestal and realize that you are the minority here and your trolling borders on petty and inane.

Re: Franchise Mode is Piece of a Bigger Picture Says San Diego Studios

Here's my thing. I've been playing the show since 2007. This is year 13. Franchise mode is a staple of a baseball game, because those of us that play are detail oriented, nuanced, and stat driven. We want the satisfaction of playing a full season, trying to make it to the playoffs, and hopefully winning the WS.

And we want that same thing from an online franchise. to either draft a team and make trades or build from the bottom vs other players. if I pick a small market team, i have work within the budget i have, so i have to be crafty and get the most out of what i have.

maybe thats 1 or 2 year deals to aging vets. making a big trade to try to make a playoff run. drafting.

RTTS is the same thing, just you controlling yourself.

DD allows too much cheese. you can buy your way to a team full of diamonds, which makes for a ton of duplicate teams. it is in fact a way for SDS to make money in lieu of declining sales.

Not Countryboy, but I am in year 9 of my carryover franchise and I've never had to use stubs to increase my budget. I play as the Cubs and have about 30Mil of extra payroll space available. I utilize the sponsorships I have. It's a 30 team control franchise so I also assign sponsorships to the other 29 teams to keep everyone on the same playing field.

This game lacks aggression in its development. They implement a feature and it is never revisited or advanced from its infancy. They add quirks and they are static, the kicker is 2k adds badges and they are dynamic in year two. Everything about this game is static. They add PBR and it is a multi-year process that covers 90% of the game. They develop at a snail's pace and often never revisited or advance on the feature that feature will be the same from 2012 to 2020.

SDS, lack vision, awareness, wherewithal and overall sticktuitivness. They churn out an 80 Metacritic game annually and they are proud of it.

Truth be told ever since Kolbe left, this game hasn't been the same, as far as ambition foes.

Guessing this post won't go over well, but seems SCEA hit a home run by adding contract extensions this year!

                            Never

The new budget system, while cumbersome at time, is simply fantastic in how it works. I wish more data was given to the user but it works great. Watching teams like the A’s, Padres, and Rays increase their budget by winning over time is a thing of beauty.

I don’t see any reason why increasing your budget with stubs is necessary

So, I am a casual baseball fan who buys The Show every 2-3 years and only plays Franchise mode. The last game I bought was The Show 17', I'm still trying to keep up with this thread but from what I'm seeing, The Show 19' franchise's mode won't be having any improvements...?

Might I be better off updating my MLB 17' rosters or getting 18' on the cheap?

The additions to franchise mode are contract extensions, real life value contracts, and the ability to choose to front load or back load a contract.

And as always the AI and roster management logic (trades/free agency) will be tuned
