People on r/mlbtheshow are saying they feel that the march to october mode is too long. So it seems SDS picked a good length to the mode.

I think the problem with many DD players is that they try and do it all and get all of the rewards. So, if they approach March to October with that mindset then I can understand their opinion. It would be 450 hours on hall of fame to try and complete the mode with every team to get the highest card reward.

But you know that there will be a few players who actually do complete the mode 30 times on Hall of Fame difficulty

A lot of quoting for how little response and transparency was provided. Many of the statements were fairly ambiguous and provided very little insight into their real intention and direction for franchise mode. If I had to interpret meanings, i'd lean on wanting to provide a more holistic experience to players is not in favor of franchise mode. I interpret, which is all that can be done due to complete lack of transparency, as modes are going to be stripped down, hence why you get a "March to October" that is essentially season but without the in-depth management and not having control of every at bat. I'd guess they're gauging a feel for this new mode, and weighing it as a possible replacement for Franchise depending on reception.

And for claiming he reads every post on OS, he certainly addressed no points and answered no questions from posts, when many are very valid. This provided very little reassurance as intended, and most likely made the community question intentions even more.

PATHETIC!!!!! I get that nobody cares over there or even here but this will be the first time since MLB the show 09 I will not be purchasing this game. The direction that franchise is going and how the developers are making every mode be a mode where you can get through super fast is embarrassing. And then the developers what to insult our intelligence with this information should be embarrassing to them. They take out season mode without telling anyone I bet they do the same with franchise next year or year after. An absolute shame and shame on SCEA

What year did they remove the option to see all the in between pitch animations for the batter and such?
Do it. (Release The Show for PC)

I think that highlights the problem with trying to make a franchise mode for people who don't like franchise mode. Maybe you hit some perfect middle ground where both sides like it, or maybe you end up making something that neither side really wants. I guess we'll see

I checked a few pages of threads on reddit and saw one thread about people being unhappy with the length but that thread itself was mostly positive about the link. In looking at the last few pages of recent threads I did not see any major opposition to it. Maybe I missed it buried in another thread though.

Can't remember, its been awhile. It would be great to have that as an option again.

I just ordered NHL 19 to try to fill my gaming void that is created by waiting/skipping The Show.

Dude, you will absolutely love NHL 19 this year of you are a franchise guy. I promise you this. Easily my most played sports game this year. Gameplay was better at release but still pretty good.

The Show 18 though really is the best Baseball game ever, so I will be sticking with that and skipping 19 in hopes that 20 will give way to two major baseball titles. The excitement and anticipation when a new MVP Baseball game is announced will be flat out off the f*ck*** charts. As it should be.
I have zero desire for EA to make a baseball game once again. They already have lackluster sports games in NHL, Madden and Live. FIFA is their best creation.

Maybe 2K or someone else would be cool. But EA has no chance of making a better baseball game than Sony San Diego. It would be laughable.

NHL '19 is on sale for under $20 in the Playstation store, right now. I've been thinking about picking it up since the Stanley Cup Playoffs are right around the corner. I figure the gameplay HAS to be better than FIFA at the moment.

It’s near loot box hell now. The Show’s DD essentially functions identically to EA’s ultimate team crap. You can grind your face off or throw money at packs. No difference. More competition and other companies pushing innovation is never a bad thing. It might take another company an entire console generation cycle to be relevant and catch up to what the show has at this point, but if they focused on the right areas they could be make a dent in the market. It’s not like EA and 2k made pathetic baseball games in the past.

Yeah dude! You will really like it. Gameplay is the best it's been in a long time, but what really makes the game stand out is he franchise mode. The revamped scouting system is one of the best in all of sports games, and EA has licensing deal with the CHL, Finish league, and SHL so you get at least two years of real life prospects coming up in the next two drafts. Also, the expansion and relocation feature is better than any games outside of 2K. You can choose which city you want to start in or relocate to and fully customize your stadium and mascot lol. Their are a lot of templates to help design your uniforms to really give them a personal touch, everything from fonts on the jerseys, all the way to colors, and logos. Unfortunately you can't upload custom logos in franchise but there are some decent logos by default including classic franchises like the nordiques and Kansas City scouts. I really had a blast with this years NHL game and for )20 bucks you are getting a smokin deal.

I've been wanting them to add back the foul ball camera for YEARS. It's not coming back.
