MountUrCastle's San Francisco Giants Rebuild
August 19
the one where we lose a lot
The Giants have completely blown up. With the trades that were made, a less-than-good record was expected, but the offense should have been productive enough to create a few wins here and there. Instead, the Giants finished August now 67-69 after going 10-17 down the stretch with the offense being close to anemic- they only scored more than 4 runs 3 times in the month, with all of them thankfully being W's.
New Giant Ben Zobrist is raking in the Bay with a .313 batting average overall and has been absolutely on fire since he joined the team. Longoria has continued his hot year and is still hitting above .300, and Posey is hitting a respectable .296- this is contrasted by practically everyone hitting below .250.
New Giants Kevin Kramer and Yu Darvish have also been respectable in their own right, with Kramer being a respectable defensive 2B while Darvish has been solid throughout his playtime.
With this, the tank is on. The Giants do not hope to lose as often as possible, but many losses favor them in their goal to build an elite prospect pool.
