    Re: HDR on or Off?

    Any help as I have a Samsung 2017 Model with 4k UHD curve 78 inch KS9500 ?

any advice as I have been fooling around with all the settings... Should I use game mode, or Dynamic UHD, So many settings..

I also have the new samsung Q series UHD...

Any advice from Samsung owners with these TV's would be great?

Game looks great but I know there are some Tricks to certain settings for the PS4 as well as the tv's's..

    thanks in advance

I posted couple of days ago about how the game wasn't very bright and HDR made it darker. Well, it's looked fantastic ever since and I've had hdr on the whole time. Very strange but no complaints now.

Rtings.com has great set ups and picture setting referrals and it is sorted by model they have pretty much every TV to offer performance advice

Starting to question that because I tried those recommended settings and it did nothing. My main issue is when I play with HDR on and visual setting of Sharpest, the lag is horrible.

Are you in game mode? What kind of TV do you have? I might have missed it.

You always wanna be in game mode for the lowest input lag.

Always always use game mode. For every game. The input lag will be the lowest on game mode always.

And your TV is very good with HDR.

But I just turned it off a few weeks ago and the colors in my sports games really pop a lot better now. Especially NBA 2K and MLB The Show. A LOT more realistic looking.
This all depends on what tv you have. On my monitor I’ve disabled HDR because it’s an 8bit panel and not real HDR. Many of the cheaper tvs aren’t offering true HDR. It looks a lot better disabled on my monitor, but in my OLED it looks incredible.

I have the LG C7 (Oled) and I have HDR turned off.
It looks glorious in HDR standard mode (with all the bells and whistles) but because of the lag it has to be on HDR game mode and that just doesn’t do it for me.

It’s a Sony TV, not at home to check the series but it’s a 75in and I can’t have the HDR and game mode on at the same time.

You need to use game mode to play the game, and turn on HDR in the games audio/video options, not on your TV. Your TV will then go into HDR mode.

I have the Sony X900f. That's how you do it with Sony TV's. And probably most others.

I use balanced, no noticeable lag. Can you tell me the model of the TV please? I wanna check on some settings for you if you don't mind.

Also, did you set it to game mode and turn on HDR through the games options?
