Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.06 Available Later This Morning, Patch Notes

Any chance we could get a new defensive option patched in for RTTS?

I like that there’s an option to play out all ‘Action Pitches’ for teammate at bats while being on base.

Would love to see that same ‘Action Pitches’ option return for defense. It used to be there. This would allow for more randomness/unexpectedness on defense, while still speeding up play.

Just curious. If there are people who are playing the game and have no frame rate issues, how would they go about fixing it. I’m also assuming that your your frame rate is so bad the game flat out can’t be played.

Wow..Really sorry to hear for folks who can't play the game. There are obviously many playing the game without frame rate issues, including me. Is there a pattern for those with the issue?

Everybody is having the same issue but the difference is that some are not sensitive to it or their eyes are already use to it and it does not bother them

Go play a real 60fps game on pc that has no drops and turn it off and play the show and see if there is no issue. Nobody is saying this is horrible to the point of you cannot play it but is there and many many have already reported the same thing

We all have the same game but some are just use to it and do not know any better performance that they feel this is smooth when it is far from smooth

I play games on PC and X and PRo and playing 60fps and 120fps on pc and going to console is like being hit with a hammer.

But if you are just use to console and play the show religiously the fps drops would be something your eyes are use to but it does not mean the devs get a free pass. It should be fixed and should be the main thing fix over anything else because without performance you got nothing

Anyone who is playing on the PS4 Pro with the Faster option and same gameplay cameras have the same framerate issues in certain stadiums that we have. You either consciously don't see them, they may be insignificant, your television is outputting at a higher refresh rate so they could be invisible, or I don't know what. But nobody here has a superior disc or console (to the Pro, at least).

If you play on Balanced or Sharper, the framerate is already worsened so the effect is likely diminished, or it might not be there at all, depending on who knows what.

I have two videos out there running at 59.94 FPS: one from a Spring Training stadium and one from Minute Maid Park. For whatever reason we want to throw out there, the MMP video shows certain frames duplicating. Not skipping, not running at a slower framerate... duplicating. This is mid-pitch.

Maybe cameras with more or less FOV will render items better when the pitch is thrown, I'm not sure which. People also have concerns with the dynamic cameras and the framerate there, as have I... so I play with the Retro fielding camera, and things are better for me in that regard. Anyway, the framerate concerns are real. If you are playing the game with settings where you can't see them, or if they don't affect your style of play on a visual level, then that's good on you! I mean that sincerely, that's a good thing. I envy your experience.

As for people griping they haven't been fixed, I'd tread softly and bite my tongue if I were you. You don't know what it takes to get that done, and releasing patches to fix other things doesn't mean they're not working on it as we speak. Don't let twenty patch releases be an indicator of what they may be trying to do to optimize the game in those certain stadiums. Furthermore, don't be upset at the result if they fix it and the game seems to have regressed with regard to visual fidelity. There is always a trade-off when it comes to increasing performance.

All this being said... not including the home run celebration camera option is a big no-no in my book, and they are intentionally leaving that out. Shame on them for that one. I always thought they took pride in the number of options they provide us, and to have deliberately removed it and not looked back is pretty unfortunate for a great number of us.

I can't recall this option. Is it the "no-doubt" HR view?

If you go to Home Run Derby, you'll see the option name. I believe it's something like "HR Celebration Cam," I don't really know. Anyway, toggling it on/off in HRD doesn't do anything, either in that mode or any of the other game modes. It's just an archaic option in an archaic mode that they never decided to look back at and remove/make functional.

Honestly, if they gave people the option to turn it off and people stopped using it. They would have no motivation to improve or add new no doubt homerun swings. This is one of my favorite aspects of the show as it gives the players at least some differentiation in personality. I personally don't mind the no doubt camera. If I want to see the flight of the ball I can always go to replay

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Ah..not in game to check but this is the view that just showed the player on no doubt HR?

There is still an element of suspense/authenticity off contact, even on no-doubters, that is lost because of the camera. As for your replay argument, I could do the same in replay myself, or see it on the instant replay. They do that in real life all the time.

And they wouldn't be enticed to add new celebrations? Good! Have a walking one, have a jogging one, have a "not sure so I'll sprint and oh look it went over" one, and be done with it. However, I think they would be enticed to still add new ones. Have it on by default, and allow people to switch it off, that's all that's being asked for.

Yes. The option cannot be disabled. Not sure which year they removed the option, but it was quite a few years ago.

Got it. Was never a fan of that view, but can understand why those who liked the view would be disappointed. I like when they leave in options. But I assume it is a memory issue and their priorities.

Like just about everyone I too have the framerate issues. For me, though, the game is still playable. You learn to adjust to it, reluctantly... However it really makes a beautiful looking game a little messy. The ball going through the air and losing several frames is an immersion-killing eyesore.

2013 was the last year the HR cam on/off option was functional. It was also the final year the game was PS3 only. I think somewhere during the PS3 > PS4 transition, they removed (accidental or not) that option and it would require much more than just a flip of the switch to bring it back. They've probably also underestimated how many ppl actually cared about that.
