Any feedback on the changes to bunting?I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Post patch played a franchise game yesterday and bunted once with a runner on second. Put the ball between 3rd baseman and pitcher and runner advanced. For me.....that was success.Comment

Love the patch so far. It's funny how it plays different for different people/play styles. I'm hitting less HR's but more line drives. Average has taken a hit as the timing is more challenging. I don't see anything that can't be corrected with sliders depending on your play style. I don't play alot online.... but I've seen comments here about how the patch is awful and that it catered only to online players. At least you can adjust the sliders if you're playing the other modes.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.09 Available - Patch Notes Here
A couple of initial observations on the patch:
I had been running with the timing slider at 4 pre-patch (because the timing window was too wide at default previously - leading to too many hard hit balls, too many weird contact hits on the zone periphery, etc). I bumped it back to default post-patch and it feels pretty much the same as it did at 4 pre-patch.
I fired-up a couple of quick Conquest games to see about the line drive frequency adjustment (done only for DD). It feels just like it does in franchise with solid hits bumped down a notch from default. So, while I am used to that, I can nearly guarantee that THIS is the change causing angst in the H2H community (which is a change that DOES NOT affect RTTS/Franchise players).
Frame rates are definitely improved. The NY stadiums/HOU are now playable using my preferred Retro camera so I am very happy (no more switching hitting cameras in those parks). Still see the occasional hiccup in fielding views, but I'm OK with that as long as the hitting camera is good (which it is).
They did a really nice job cleaning-up a lot of the nagging little OSD issues (like the scoreline at the bottom of the screen shifting over to the right after a substitution).
I only got a couple of full franchise games in last night, so it's too early to say anything definitively; but with my near-default setup, it played really well in those games.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Sorry...
With them making a change to make it easier, I was afraid they were going to go too far and make bunting automatic again, like in '16.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry to be happy that you were unsuccessful in your bunt attempt.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.09 Available - Patch Notes Here
Any one else notice a difference in the backspin of the balls hit since the patch?
Might be a placebo effect, but I played my first game since the patch, and I can swear there was a bit of a different feel in the ballspin that had good contact off the bat...
I had two balls that just were crushed towards the triangle at Fenway, and the carry seemed a lot more realistic, and then Chavis had a pop fly he just missed, and it seemed like it took a lot longer to come down.
Again, maybe just some hit variety that I had not noticed yet, but I play a tom of games in testing, and today had a totally different feel for me.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.09 Available - Patch Notes Here
I performed a successful safety squeeze yesterday. Runners on first and third, one out, pitcher at the plate. He bunts but it’s a pop up in front of the plate. Catcher couldn’t get it in the air so grabbed it on one hop, turned to try and get my runner going home and missed the tag as my runner slid under and was safe. In the past the catcher would jump out of his crouch like he was Super Mario and catch the ball and I’d be doubled off third.
I also bunted for a single against the shift in the same game which led to an insurance run when the score was 3-1.

What happened to the players in the minors having optional helmets w the c-flaps, that feature was fine, & yet of course it gets screwed, also what’s going on w Lourdes Gurriel’s name audio ? What a complete mess.

It's seems like people around here like to jump down your throat as soon as you have the Gaul to not like something SDS does.
You can call my posts negative, you can say "you have been done three times already this year", or whatever clever anecdote you feel will get you the most likes in regards to my post. It doesn't discount the fact that the game was better before the patch and that this patch was HEAVILY influenced by the shownation crowd which is the absolute last group of people SDS should be listening to when it comes to producing a realistic baseball experience.
Too me the hitting feels like your swinging a wet noodle. Similar to how '18 felt about two months after release. Theres just no drive on the ball now and everything seems to float. This is causing hit variety to go right out the window. Could I have been more measured with some of my previous posts? Sure. Frustration took over a bit as this has probably been one of the best shows in the last 5 years gameplay wise. Now routine ground balls are getting booted for absolutely no reason, and the hitting just feels flat. In fact the CPU is so bad at fielding and hitting now I had to turn my dynamic difficulty setting back on because they are putting up absolutely zero fight. I have no fear of pitching in the zone now because even if I miss my spot the CPU is hitting a weak fly out. Trust me I messed around sliders for almost 5 hours last night staying up later than I should have and it had zero effect. This seems to be something hard wired into the hitting engine now. This entire change was to combat people on the show nation that were mad that every squared up hit was a line drive out. So instead of figuring out a way to make line drives fall a tad more often you just eliminate them from the game? That seems a bit short sighted in my opinion.
But whatever. I digress.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.09 Available - Patch Notes Here
After playing 5 franchise games I’m really liking the new tuning. I’m using default All Star hitting (timing) and default HOF pitching (classic) and I’m getting a variety of outcomes in terms of batted balls and box scores. Only 3 homers for me in those five games but I’m sure those numbers will bounce back. CPU still punishes me if I make a mistake, as it should.

How is the AI on legend pitching now? Should I move contact and timing sliders closer to default again? Do they have more consistent swing and miss strikeouts?Comment

I can't stand it....it ruined the game for me. Won't play it again until they "fix" it back.Comment

I like the patch. I've had some really good games in franchise with some realistic stats, and finally got blown out in a game 7-1 vs the Angels which is the biggest run differential I've lost by yet. The frame rate even on my regular PS4 seems smoother as well.Comment
