How many games have you played? Same results in all of them?

There is not a hitting setting or patch that everyone will be satisfied with. It’s just not possible.

I'm loving the hit variety, since the patch. No doubters, just clearing the wall, gappers, line drives over the outfielders head, bloopers, soft line drives, hard hit grounders, choppers, slow rollers. Amazing how we all see different things. I'm enjoying it more, since patch, definitely.

The framerate is sooooooo much better after this latest patch, it feels a lot more smooth like '18 was compared to before this patch. I finally started a chise with the Brewers. This is baseball heaven!

On a side note, I haven't played much to really see what hit variety looks like. I'll give myself a handful of series to judge that.

The fact that the game runs so much smoother is a huge plus for me. Before, it annoyed me to the point of really not playing this game at all really. Now here I am, playing my Brewers chise while watching the real Brewers game on my laptop/MLB.tv. Ahhhhhhh this is great.

Re: MLB The Show 19 Patch 1.09 Available - Patch Notes Here

One game through with the new patch. Honestly, I don't see much of a difference. Hitting, pitching, and fielding don't seem different, which is a good thing because I thought the game played great prior to the patch, aside from the excessive contact I mentioned previously.

My first 4 at-bats were double off the wall on a liner by Harrison Bader, a walk to Corey Ray, another double this time in the gap from Jon Singleton scoring Bader, and then Wisdom going yard with a 440 ft bomb. The course of the game didn't feel any different in terms of hitting than previously.

Pitching felt the same as well. Pitching with Flaherty I was able to strike out hitters, guys made contact that I thought they couldn't (I did as well), and the CPU isn't lacking in hitting as Riley Pint of the Rockies took me deep.

Fielding didn't feel different either. Saw great plays, routine plays, and both teams were error free for the game. There was a bad throw from Albies to Singleton, where he pulled him off the bag, but ruled a hit as Albies went deep in the hole and made a jump throw.

I'm sure there are subtle changes that will be show themselves over the course of a season, or month of games, but I don't think they are noticeable. Meaning, that they aren't drastic in nature, but are there for the betterment of the game.

Honestly, I'm surprised at some of the drastic differences people are seeing, but granted I don't play anything but franchise so I can't speak for other modes.

I'm currently playing my 2nd game with the patch and again its much of the same, which is fine by me.

Sorry for double post, but I guess there is a difference. I just struck out the side on 9 pitches...

Never had an immaculate inning prior to the patch.

I’ve gotten to 8 pitches a few times this year....

Just for them to take strike 9 right down the middle. I won’t even get my hopes up next time (which hopefully means I’ll get it done)

You can call my posts negative, you can say "you have been done three times already this year", or whatever clever anecdote you feel will get you the most likes in regards to my post. It doesn't discount the fact that the game was better before the patch and that this patch was HEAVILY influenced by the shownation crowd which is the absolute last group of people SDS should be listening to when it comes to producing a realistic baseball experience.

Too me the hitting feels like your swinging a wet noodle. Similar to how '18 felt about two months after release. Theres just no drive on the ball now and everything seems to float. This is causing hit variety to go right out the window. Could I have been more measured with some of my previous posts? Sure. Frustration took over a bit as this has probably been one of the best shows in the last 5 years gameplay wise. Now routine ground balls are getting booted for absolutely no reason, and the hitting just feels flat. In fact the CPU is so bad at fielding and hitting now I had to turn my dynamic difficulty setting back on because they are putting up absolutely zero fight. I have no fear of pitching in the zone now because even if I miss my spot the CPU is hitting a weak fly out. Trust me I messed around sliders for almost 5 hours last night staying up later than I should have and it had zero effect. This seems to be something hard wired into the hitting engine now. This entire change was to combat people on the show nation that were mad that every squared up hit was a line drive out. So instead of figuring out a way to make line drives fall a tad more often you just eliminate them from the game? That seems a bit short sighted in my opinion.

                  But whatever. I digress.
Since you included my response, I will respond.

First and foremost, I don't, nor have I ever made a post for likes. I voted against them being brought to this site in the first place. They mean nothing to me and are more often than not, nothing but a popularity contest.

My response to you was an honest observation with a reason behind it. With every time you've cried wolf, you lose credibility with all of the many very valid posts you make.

I'm actually very much with you with regards to opinions on this game.

I have hardly touched it this year and the lack of acknowledgement of the DH bug is driving me nuts.

It was really more just some advice than anything. Contradicting yourself here will make people skim past your posts pretty quickly. Again, you have good thoughts and idea's that are worth reading but you are making it easy for people to just want to ignore them.

In this thread alone, you went and bashed DD players claiming that this is because of them alone and then went to a different thread today and empathized with someone who was admittedly a DD player.

Was nothing more than pointing out that you've said you had no desire to play anymore multiple times (even made your own thread crying for attention about quitting) but have yet to actually follow through.

Just think about that person you work with that constantly makes claims, promises, etc. and how you feel about them.

That's pretty much the profile you've created for yourself here.

It was nice to see the two issues with the Giants' uniforms (solid black default socks and neck piping on the home creams) addressed with this patch.

Similar to how Coors Field got a mid-season jumbotron update last year, I'm hoping that the new scoreboard layouts at the Coliseum and Oracle Park can make it into the game sometime this season.

I have now played 3 games post patch. While I understand the sample size is small, I still have the same opinion as I did after the first game in that hitting, pitching, and fielding feels very much the same. Am I seeing a few more swings and misses? I think so. Am I still seeing myself and the CPU make contact on pitches where the PCI is nowhere in the area of the pitch? Yes. Am I seeing a change in hit variety? It does seem that there are weaker hits on balls where the both the timing and the PCI are off.

Two things I was concerned about; the nerfing of timing window for pitchers in addition to the change in hitting overall and the making bunting easier, are no longer a concern. Having faced Riley Pint, Kyle Freeland, and Gerritt Cole, they all three had a hit against me, with Riley Pint planting one into the left field bleachers.

As for bunting, I honestly don't notice a change. I was able to sacrifice like normal and I failed miserably twice bunting.

All in all I like the patch. The changes are there, but subtle as to not dynamically change the way the game plays.

Prior to the patch the game was only slightly off for me. Default All Star hitting was just a little too easy and default HOF I found to be just a little too difficult. On All Star hitting I would make too much hard contact with a few too many hits and HR’s per game. On HOF hitting, pitch speed was more than I could handle. Default All Star pitching was also a little too easy, getting too many K’s and too few hits and on default HOF the CPU would drive a few too many pitches out. Because of this, I had made some slight slider adjustments using JoshC1977’s slider set to make this game a little more in line with where I needed it for my skill level but was really trying to find a comfortable default setting.

These subtle changes has made this game the most fine tuned sports game I’ve played in recent memory. I personally don’t like having to use sliders so it feels really nice right now.

It seems to me that the timing window was reduced for Human and CPU which has allowed me to use default All Star Hitting and Default HOF pitching. I’m now manufacturing runs without hitting 3-5 Hr’s per game and the same is true for the CPU teams.

I’m still getting a nice variety of games and am having a blast in my franchise since the patch. This game now plays so that it is both challenging and rewarding. In terms of gameplay only, I’m not sure the game can be improved much beyond where it is. To me, these subtle changes were all that was needed for my gameplay style and skill level.

If you're currently happy with where your sliders are now in regards to contact and timing, I personally would leave them be.

I’m seeing a lack of extra base hits but I’m the jays so we don’t have a lot of power to begin with..

Just finished my first series in my Brewers franchise. Split with the Cards, going 2-2. I lost game one 1-0, leaving plenty of guys on base. I almost got no-hit in game two by Flaherty (Hiura broke it up in the 8th, also getting his first big-league hit). Won a close 4-2 game in game three, Moose had a 3-run dinger in the first and from then on it was a pretty good pitching battle. I won game four 6-5, with both teams hitting the ball all over the place. I hit a 400-foot bomb with Hiura for his first career homer. Hader locked down the save in my two wins, though I threw a lot more sliders than he has in real life this season.

Overall...wow I am loving this game now lol. I've always been a huge fan of this game. It's always an easy pre-order for me, and I often play it year-round until the next iteration comes out. All I need to do now is get some sounds of the show into the game to add to the real-life feel. I'm playing on default HOF for batting and pitching/fielding.

I had a rough start with this game because of the framerate. Now that it's fixed, I couldn't be happier with '19. I hope everyone is able to enjoy this awesome game, no matter which mode/how you play.

I've gotten to 8 pitches on an immaculate 3 different times this year, and all 3 times I finished the inning with 25+ pitches and multiple runs allowed. I almost want to purposefully throw a ball the next time I get the first 8 strikes.
