It had to happen. XBox was never going to get a legit MLB ever again otherwise.

So this will mean around a 100 extra sales of the game [emoji12]
Man I mean it’s good for the sport but I feel like my wife is gonna throw away her ring in 2021 and pushes an open relationship haha.Last edited by LastActionHero; 12-10-2019, 04:08 PM."When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Well if this happens in 2021 and if saves carry over, count me in for a Playstation copy, a Switch copy, and if it's on PC a copy there as well. I'd love to be able to play my Road to the Show on the Switch handheld.Comment

So this is how The Show dies. Sorry this is not a good thing. I think we have seen the end of offline single player franchise development. This reeks of a money grab and a forced move by the MLB on Sony. They will embrace the monetization aspects and modes. Don't be surprised when carry over saves disappear and gameplay suffers as a result. Its becoming more and more clear that '19 is the year to jump off this pay train. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I wonder if they will have a cross save feature so that you can play on any system you prefer and then bring your stuff over to another one to continue to play. Similar to when they implemented saves carry over, that would be a game changer for The Showest 1978

They cant even get the game to run right on the console they have been using for 15 years. Rosters are all messed up, legacy issues abound, graphic glitches that have been in the game since inception. You magically think that developing for MORE platforms is going to fix all of this, or more likely make it worse? You are a fool and naive if you think that it wont get worse. But you keep spending your money.Last edited by Bullit; 12-10-2019, 09:16 AM.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Couldn't agree more Bullit. We've seen how their priorities have shifted the last few years, leaving all the legacy issues that still remain today. People think that their focus is magically going to shift back to fixing those? Highly doubtful, because now they will have access to more people, which just adds fuel to the fire of their precious DD. Just means more packs they can potentially sell.Comment

Re: MLB, MLBPA,Sony Extend Partnership
I'm curious about the Sony extension part of this...
On one hand, they're giving up an exclusive, albeit not one of their super upper tier exclusives (compared to Naughty Dog games, etc.).
On the other hand, this would still be a Sony published title, so with additional sales on Microsoft and Nintendo consoles Sony will be paid for those sales.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Coming to Additional Console Platforms, as early as 2021
99.9 percent Xbox gamer except I bought a PS4 for The Show. I'm glad I did not just for that game but it introduced me to some other exclusive games on PS4 that I ended up liking.
But 2021 - new consoles will be out. I'm not going to drop $500/$600 on a new console in 2021 so do we know the game will still be coming out for PS4/XBOX ONE fully supported???
Also is it an exclusive lic w/ SDS? or can EA get back into a MLB game?
Fortunately, I'm satisfied with this edition. There isn't anything new they are adding to the Franchise mode, which is all I play, so I don't see myself buying any future versions anyway. I never was DD or anything of that ilk in any game.Comment

Re: MLB The Show Coming to Additional Console Platforms, as early as 2021
High quality games are so expensive and time consuming to produce these days, this sort makes sense, as unusual as it is. MLB must have made it worth Sony’s while, looking for further exposure of its product that is MLB. They certainly could have done worse than The Show when looking for that further exposure.
I really doubt MLB is worried about exposure. Who on Earth doesn't know of it.
Like the advertisers during the Super Bowl. Anyone who can afford to pay to advertise for that are the companies everyone one Earth already knows about. I don't think anyone will say, WOW, I never heard of Budweiser. Thank goodness for the ad. lolComment

"B-b-but more consoles means more sales and bigger budget!" Haha. Yeah, it also means increased production on a team that struggles to do anything meaningful with each development window now on one console where they've had the engine for the game setup for 6 years. All I can forsee is The Show becoming even more like Madden than it already has.Comment

It is a good thing.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

However, if it comes to PC, every single one of the things you mentioned can potentially be solved with mods.Comment
