And that's not even thinking about the corners they'll have to cut. I would have to think a PC version is coming at some point, maybe the first year will just be the consoles or they just haven't confirmed it yet for 2021. People keep mentioning it as a "Play Anywhere" title for Xbox.....that's definitely not happening. That's only Microsoft published games. Forza, Gears, Halo, etc. No way will it be for a 3rd party game published by their competitor. Anyway I don't really see why they wouldn't release it on PC if it's coming to the other platforms too; seems like a pretty simple decision. It would do well.

Anyway, would be pretty phenomenal to play this on PC at 4k/60+fps. If it can be modded that would of course be fantastic icing on the cake, but let's just get a confirmation that it's coming first.
There is a good reason why it may not come to PC (even though I desperately want it to). Committing to PC means committing to support on PC. Consoles are becoming more and more like PCs with this next generation, with very similar infrastructure and multiple SKUs, but the fact remains that as long as you remain on consoles only, you're only committing to support for 5 different SKUs at most.

With PC in the picture, the are literally thousands of possible combinations of hardware, and you need to provide support for every single one. So yeah, PC is a much bigger committment.

As for the switch, if it has cross save, I for one will definitely get it. If it doesn't have cross save, I may still get. As long as the only sacrifice is graphics (ie texture quality), it may actually become my preferred version.

EA like 2K, Microsoft, and Nintendo, had zero interest doing a AAA baseball game if they had to compete with The Show. MLB wants the game on all consoles.

My guess is that MLB told Sony that they either needed to go multi with The Show, or they were giving somebody else full exclusive rights.

The fanboys will put this on EA, but no one, even Microsoft and their High Heat license saw value in producing a baseball game for the Xbox.

NBA 2k are now going crap now too with their slot machine garbage and real time Ads in the game. they are on the decline too. there is no sports game currently now rocking in it's prime. the show is starting to go to tbe beginning of the decline the last couple of years. with all the focus being on DD season mode being taken out.. and the focus limited to this road to October mode.

I don’t think it was this. It’s clearly just a lot more profitable to release it everywhere else. And, I don’t think Sony looks at Mlb the show in the same light as a game like God of war. I’m the end SONY will make a lot more money bringing mlb the show on many other platforms especially knowing they don’t really have any competition.

And IMO this is the best way to keep competition from arising. I think MLB will be content with RBI being more of an arcade type deal, and a less expensive alternative for pre-teens who may not have need or want for a sim experience. I expect sales to double easily when this console support expansion happens.

I highly doubt there will be a PC release. Every thing I’ve seen written has stated “multi console platform”. Key word, “console”.

And for those who think this means they’ll hire a bunch more people because they’ll be developing for 3 consoles, it still wouldn’t mean that they’re in need of the people that program what we care about. Those people wouldn’t be hired to work on franchise mode, player models, physics, or anything else regarding game play. Those people would likely be engineers to help with the porting to the other platforms. It’s likely to be the same game made for all 3 systems and just a port.

I dont look for a PC version, if there is, I'd bet not until 2023 or after. I bet the first couple years you wont see this affect the PlayStation Show but with the revenue stream this opens up, I'd be surprised if by year 3 on multiplatforms is when this pays dividends for the PlayStation. just a hunch.

Erroneous! They were busy building that powerhouse IP, NBA Live, which has a healthy fanbase.

LOL. Nice. People thought I was nuts when I suggested this. MLB just can't ignore all those potential customers on other consoles when they see the cash Madden, fifa, and 2k are making via multiplatform. Good news for everyone..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

All new first party xbox games going forward will also be on PC. The Show wouldn't fall under that umbrella.

I don't think we will see a PC release, even though I really want one. If they do make one at least modders could finally fix all legacy issues that have plagued the game for years (assuming enough modders care about baseball to do it). Plus, making custom rosters would be about 100x faster on PC.

Custom rosters would be incredible. we would be able to 'skip a year' with players age and use the same rosters as the previous year and wouldn't have keep buying the show for updated rosters. we could have service time. fixed for some players. edit career stats. someone might even be able to mod a auto update career stats

Think of other little things too might even be able to get into the graphics make our own uniforms. give players shaves and give them beards. add portraits. add our own faces. think of all the possibility;a a PC version would be, i remember when Madden cracked this back in I think it was 06 I spent hours fixing uniforms. it was fun.

the endless possibilities for a PC version would be amazing I miss the mid 00s when modding sports games on PC was good time wasters. Sadly though its mainly about console mainstream sports games now and MUT modes and DD modes and selling digital cards and junk that is only good for 6 months. it's just like throwing money away in a bath tub. those mods are nothing to do with sports at all. franchise gameplay and customization that's what sports games should be about
