This is what confuses me about the mode. We were told this is the future of "franchise." This is what people want. I am sure the telemetry data will show it was rarely used.

It was essentially a DD type mode in a franchise skin.


Any franchise type mode needs to have injuries or the option to have them. That is what makes baseball great, having depth and working through injuries.

if M2O is the future of franchise, then I'm going Back to the Future, playing a lot of NCAAF 14, NCAAB 10, EA's NASCAR 09 and Show 10-17.

The good news about MTO last year was that it logged itself as hours spent playing franchise so the total franchise hours should have gotten a nice bump last year due to all the DD players who went through it at least once.

I feel like MTO was just critical situations with a story mode to tie it together. Personally I’d much rather play a fully fleshed out franchise mode.

You could not be more correct lol It really seems like a lot of ppl want a season/franchise with playable moments and storylines . Just seems like how franchise should be done.

Alright! Tonight is the night we find out if Smoltz is in the broadcast booth.

I keep thinking about the fact that he said before he knew he was in the game but not as a player.... What else could he have meant by that??

He's gotta be replacing DeRo or Pleasac right?????

I posted this in another thread but does anybody else feel that we've had less gameplay video than in years past to this point. Finding new things within the game, which is always fun and the video we have seen is more a mix between last years game and some of this years game. Maybe it's just me.

Hopefully DeRo. I don’t mind Pleasac to much but DeRo with his ambush tactics every inning drives me nuts.

Honestly though, it’s not the commentators that is the problem it’s the long rambling lines they’re given to read that are kind of bad.

I posted this in another thread but does anybody else feel that we've had less gameplay video than in years past to this point. Finding new things within the game, which is always fun and the video we have seen is more a mix between last years game and some of this years game. Maybe it's just me.

I wonder if that has anything top do with the move to multiple new platforms next year and with the new consoles coming out. My guess is that they may have already diverted a portion of their development staff to prepping for the graphics improvements and more horsepower these new machines will have.

I might be mis-remembering but they didn't post a ton last year (outside of the gameplay streams) until they did the lengthy dev tourney stream.

I completely agree with you MLB The Show 20 info has been a complete bore so for me

To be honest though I kind of expected this anyway. SDS focus is on PS5 and other next gen systems for sure!!!!!

This is the least excited I have been for an MLB The Show release since well ever.

But I am still buying 20 because I am sure it will be better then 19 in a lot of areas. But what I am mostly excited about is MLB The Show 21 for PS5

PS5 is going to be a beast of a system!!!

Just imagine what SDS will be able to do on the PS5 and other next gen systems!
