Or is that also more of a national thing and not necessarily the sentiment locally?

I would argue it's the opposite of trendy, people have been bashing it for so long that it's just part of the conversation for people who haven't been there.

And I haven't been there, but I play every single game in franchise and when I play the Rays, I might choose The Trop for one of the games.

No. but theres an option i think its "everyone can relocate" that allows the CPU teams to choose to relocate. but then youre at the mercy of the CPU to pick a team and move them. ive seen big city teams relocated by the CPU. that why i always choose 32 team control .

The Rays have a couple of other challenges that other markets don't have.
The first is, well, Tampa Bay.  The Trop is in St. Petersburg, pretty much at the southern end of Pinellas County.  Geographically--stick with me here!--Pinellas County is a peninsula, and it runs along the western shore of the bay.  So, if you're coming in from Tampa, Hillsborough County, and points east, you're going to be coming across one of the long bridges across the bay.  From Bradenton, Manatee County, and points south, your only option is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge--a total nonstarter for anyone afraid of heights, and never mind the paranormal rumors about the thing.  Regular ferry service across the bay is being looked at, but right now, the Cross Bay Ferry to and from Tampa is winter only.  All of that, is part of why the Rays were looking at Ybor City in Hillsborough County a few years ago.
But if you're coming down from up-county, there's another teensy-weensy challenge or two in Dunedin and Clearwater.  Namely, the A-ball farm teams for the Phillies and Jays.  The "D-Jays" have a newly renovated stadium this year, and the Threshers are just off US 19, the county's main north-south road.  If I lived anywhere north of Largo, why would I go schlepping down to St. Pete, and pay big-league prices on concessions and parking?
And then, there's the weather.  Summer is the rainy season here, and with the bay to the east of us, the gulf out to the west, here we are, stuck in the middle with INSANE HUMIDITY!  Scoff at a hard dome and indoor baseball all you want, but summers can be brutal down here.  You didn't think all that nice weather during the winter months was free, did you?  Indoors and air conditioned?  Yes please!  True, the minor leaguers do play outdoors, but the geography permits that.  A Lakeland vs. Tampa rain-out is one thing.  If the Rays were to get rained out while hosting the Mariners...welll...see where that goes?
Transportation is another sore spot.  There is no cross-bay public transit to speak of, at least not at night or on weekends.  And even within Pinellas County, post-game options are limited.  Driving or carpooling are pretty much the standard, and event parking in St. Pete starts at jaw-dropping, continues up through eye-watering, and runs all the way up to sphincter-tightening.
So, yeah, the Rays do have their challenges.  Some of them just go with the territory, and literally so.  But some of the problems the Rays have, as a franchise, could be considered leadership issues.  Their biggest problem, is NOT their stadium.

I didn’t copy the whole thing for the sake of post length but, I rather enjoyed this detailed local perspective, thank you! As a lifelong Midwesterner, this was very informative and helpful.

That said... I bet they’ll be the most popular choice to “relocate” in game, from those that want to use the feature. For other reasons, I’ll be relocating the A’s myself and using them as a new team (for perspective, when I start a new franchise I also do a simulated fantasy draft at the start. I get to choose my first pick as my “franchise player”, then I sim the rest, and whoever I get on my team is who I get. Makes for an interesting starting point, allows me to develop unique rivalries within the division, etc). But, when I looked at all teams, the only ones that I viewed as “realistic” relocation possibilities were the A’s, Rays, and Marlins, and even the Marlins were a fringe one, since they have such a new stadium.

the Studio has done a wonderful job replicating the Trop and I love getting a healthy dose there playing with the Orioles. the only real upgrade I wish it could get would be a retractable roof. same goes for the Oakland Coliseum, SDS captured it beautifully, and I love Mt. Davis (in the Show). anything that helps differentiate stadiums in the Show. except for when Miami had Marjory the Trash Heap in the outfield. I may not know art but I know hideous when I see it. beauty may well be in the eye of the beholder but you'd have to be blind to see beauty there. it was so godawful, it could not be given a name. one last cheapshot, beauty may be skin deep but that monstrosity was ugly to the bone. it got to be so bad, I tried not to hit homers there so as not to get Medusad.

While I hope the phrase Full Minor League Rosters includes actual minor league players, I also hope that it means more roster spots (126 would be ideal)

My hope is for the following breakdown:

              MLB - 26
              AAA - 25
              AA - 25
              A - 25
              Rookie - 25

This would help eliminate high quality players being left in free agency as there simply isn’t enough roster spots to balance a major league roster along with role players, prospects, and journeymen in the minors

Although doing this will also require the financials to be redone so there is enough money to go around

I hated going to a game at the Trop. Like you said, the location sucks as getting to the stadium is miserable. But even the stadium itself is just so bland. It just felt like walking through a convention center. The best part was just hanging out in the outfield at the bars in centerfield...but every stadium has that these days

Cmon man, not Marjory As the stadium connoisseur I am, I've been to Miami once and got to see Marjory show her colors... I'll always say that Marlins Park looked like a waterpark with a baseball field inside it, and that sculpture and the fish tank behind home plate really tied it together.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed

One thing that I'm hoping to read/hear about hitting that I've been wanting for a while is a PCI moving sensitivity slider.

What I want is the ability to adjust how sensitive/quickly/slowly the PCI moves when I move the L-Stick. I'm not very good at feathering the L-stick, so therefore I am often off spot on a pitch because the PCI moves too quickly before I press swing to get it locked on. It also allows me to foul off pitches that I shouldn't really be getting too, because I am fooled, but due to the PCI moving rather swiftly, I am able to get a piece of the ball.

Personally I would like to make it less sensitive/slow it down a bit so that on pitches I do recognize I am able to make better contact and on the other side miss pitches I really shouldn't get to because I am fooled and off balance.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I haven't checked to see the outcome but MLB floated the idea of eliminating a significant number of milb affiliates.

They did do it. Over 30 teams I believe will be gone. It is a shame. But this is all about $$$$ and player development is being contracted as a result. Also small town economy’s are being contracted as these small low A ball teams provide jobs.

But.....business is business and this was an owners/commissioner decision.

I am from Los Angeles but lived in Orlando for 5 years in my 20’s. I had the opportunity to go to several rays games. Although the trop wasn’t a “dump”, it was hard to get used to watching baseball inside lol. Although it does beat sitting in 98 degree heat with 98% humidity so there is that
