You can already chose which stadium to play in, in your scenario, the Trop will presumably just remain the default like it currently is, but before each game you could switch to a different stadium. (in previous years I've "moved to a new stadium" for the Rays in much the same manner)

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
Honestly the rebrand franchise thing sounds like we can change the text, and customize the logo. Doesn't sound like much more than changing the words themselves. Which could be a good base to start with. Relocation but not actually relocating.
This is my final show I am buying and though I didn't watch the stream, I am intrigued by the full minors comment. Doubt it is for the players as that would require a contract so I would think it means 25 players at A level.Funkycorm

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
If you look at the last few years of livestreams, they always had Franchise as one of the last ones. I'm convinced they did that because it had barely ever changed and they didn't want to affect pre-orders. Having Franchise be one the the first few streams is a GREAT sign that they at least added some improvements.
I can't wait to see what "full minors" means. Adding single A? That's not really full minors afterall, there's high A, low A, short season A, rookie leagues/dominican leagues. Is it all of them? Or does this mean they got a MiLB license for real MiLB players? That would be literally the greatest addition to this game in years if so, no need to constantly restart franchises every time a new player is added you want to play with, or waiting for user-created rosters.
No doubt an MiLB license would be the one thing that would get me to buy this game again after skipping last year. I have a low suspicion they could actually pull this off, but if they did... oh boy!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
Well seeing franchise mentioned is huge for me and I obviously have a ton of questions.
Is relocation and rebranding only available for my own team? Or can I do it for other teams as well? (I didn't have the forsight to use 30 team control back in 2014)
What does "Rebranding" entail? Can I just make a new alternate for my team? And can I use a pre-existing team logo? Examples: Creating a blue away alternate for Toronto that says Toronto on the Jersey instead of Blue Jays, with the same lettering and logo. Or adding the old 92/93 blue alternate back in. Or do I just have to completely rebrand from scratch? That will have a massive impact on how excited I am for this feature.
Will we get more generic stadium choices? Even if I end up not relocating any team, that will still be huge for me as I need more spring training locations then the ones available.
Super excited to find out the answers to these questions. I hope after the 13th I'll just be smacking that pre-order button.Comment

"Practice makes perfect"
Does this mean that when I am doing batting practice, the BP pitchers will throw not only fastballs but also throw in some off speed pitches? I am not holding my breath. My weakness in hitting is with the off speed stuff and while I am slowly improving (emphasis on the slowly aspect more than the improving aspect) the only time I ever get to practice with my RTTS player handling off speed pitches is during the games and well that's not exactly practice now is it.Comment

2/13 BABY LETS GOOOOOOO.
OPERATION SPORTS, WE DID IT!!!! WE TALKED SCEA INTO REBRANDS!
EDIT: If rebranding/relocation means we can realign divisions, then we can "kinda" have rotating schedules too...Last edited by itsmb8; 01-22-2020, 02:55 PM.PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
The way I see it the biggest roadblock to having real-life named minor league players in the game still hasn't changed - the fact that there is no MiLB players union. Without that, SDS would have to negotiate individually with minor league players - and I just don't see that as being feasible or possible.
So, for now I'm going to assume that it just means more roster spots on the lower end. I don't really expect more playable minors either, as it would only extend the "Road to the Show" which is already long enough for most of its playerbase (i.e. those who want to be in the majors in the first or second season, unrealistic as that is).Comment

Hope we'll have a full A playable level. But if so, they'll need another 15 players buffer at a rookie level to compensate the domino effect of injuries at higher levels.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
I think people are looking too deep into this. Rebrand and relocate means exactly that. You’ll be able to put some new uniforms on your team, name them whatever and move them to a different city. If you ask me, that’s all most of us ever wanted. The flexibility to move and rename the Rays and maybe the Marlins too and move them to cities where baseball fans actually exist lol.Comment

RTTS for sure, but I hope this makes its way into franchise "Dynamic on the field relationship".
Little handshake icon appeared over the players head after receiving the flip throw for the out.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Developer Livestream Schedule Revealed
I might actually dabble a bit more than usual with Franchise mode this year. Already planning on moving the Rays to Montreal to become the new Expos. I just hope I can move them to the NL. I'd also make the assumption that when it comes to uniforms, it would be like how it is in DD. Stadium options will be something to keep an eye on. If I'd be stuck transporting Tropicana Field to Montreal, that would be a bit awkward, though maybe not as awkward as being stuck using a minor league park.Comment
