My guess is just the ability to change the name of the team, the city name and the logo, just like in DD.

It sounds like lip service until you start thinking about the audio/visual implications (commentary, stadium art); then it seems like it would actually be a lot of work; then when you realise that it's all in DD and can just be leveraged from there it makes me think it's just a superficial thing added to the mode without any real depth.

Hence my feeling is that division realignment will not be possible.

I'm really hoping that this is FINALLY going to be the year where we can edit coaches. Being able to alter the appearance and uniform number of coaches would be HUGE for players of teams that do not get their real coaches in the game.

My biggest question that I can't wait to hear is the full minors and Team branding..

Are they giving us more levels(playable) of Minor leagues? On top of AAA and AA, will we see High A and Low A? If so that would be pretty special!
        OR
Are they giving us fully named Minor leagues - in which I'd also be okay with!

With either option, I hope we get Non-roster Invites for spring training. That would be an absolute dream honestly.

I believe full minors means what it did with Ridin's roster, namely real minor league players instead of fictional, not more levels of minors. It is my understanding that the prior contract with the MLBPA forbid the use of the real names of minor league players. However OOTP has been using them. My only thought is that the new contract no longer has this prohibition.

It would be nice if they also added name voice files for these minor league player, to the extent needed

Adding more minor leaguers could throw the budget system off if not balanced with more potential A prospects added to the mix. Needs a deeper draft pool as well.

I am holding out hope everything is more than simple name changing....that doesn't do much. And just adding another 15 roster spots.

Speaking candidly. I love these guys (SDS) but I am not holding my breath on your post TBarnes.

For the very first time in 10 years I am in a firm holding pattern for release.

Nothing on presentation, but honestly, given everything else, evolution beats revolution on that one.  If the same cast has additional dialogue on top of last year, it will still sound much better than some other franchise that I...won't name, but I will say the real-life version is currently on its All-Star break.  >_>

When I was younger, Sunday afternoons meant nap time, and listening to a baseball game (be it on the radio or TV) was an acceptable part of it.  I can put Matty V on a CPU vs. CPU game, and it still kinda sounds like one of those comfortable old Sunday broadcasts, in the best possible way.  It does kinda make me feel like a kid again...  *looks sheepish*

I wonder how many people saw the full minor league rosters on the twitch schedule and thought it’s was gonna be real prospects AAA-A. That would take forever to make all them player models for each team. You’d have to use up so much more space in the game. It’s probably just gonna fill out the number of people you can now put in Single-A.

Yeah, the logistics of it are absolutely making my head spin. But at the same time there are things in the trailer that can't be explained with our previous knowledge of the limits the devs face (two examples of real life minor league players with 0 service time present in that trailer). That's why I'm very interested in where this ends up going.

Lots of stuff for this game needs further explanation. I like what I see. But if I’m completely honest n it’s actually a great thing I’m shocked how much they are bringing into 20. Knowing that next year you are making a brand new game for a next gen console. So safe to say I’m intrigued for what’s to come.

I kinda hope the minor leaguers who dont get face scans have editable appearances, age, height, weight etc.

I also wonder does this mean the end of developers and other real life non-baseball players sprinkled and scattered across the roster.

as for gameplay haven't we talked about gameplay where fielding ratings matter for about the past 3 or 4 years now?

please hope that franchise has some nice updates this year

I'm moving the Athletics to Portland or relocate them to Vegas and have the city of Oakland hate Vegas for stealing both their NFL and MLB team lol. I skipped MLB The Show last year due to lack of Franchise improvements, and I don't watch the NBA but I like playing NBA2K because of expansion and relocation options within Franchise. Just seeing this tidbit has me excited to play MLB The Show this year as long as just deep enough to enjoy before expanding on the feature with the new consoles.
