    I am glad this is enough to get you guys excited, but for me it just wouldn’t be enough to not skip for the first time since ‘06.

    This year I finally started skipping games that I used to be yearly and it’s quite liberating. This year I have already skipped WWE and fifa for the first time in years. And next year I will most likely be limiting my purchases to just madden and NHL unless nba 2k or the aforementioned series do something to hook me in.

    It won’t take a lot to win me back I am not asking for the world. But if all they did was add roster slots and include DD assets in franchise That is simply not enough for me

      One of the things I've been waiting for is for them to add additional slots to help with the roster crunch/constraints and diminish the number of players in the free agent pool.

      300 additional spots would go a long way to resolving that issue.
      Maybe I misunderstood you, but how could you be happy and accept it if that is all they have done with franchise?

      I get being super optimistic with the game but come on. I feel this hurts everyone overall when we start accepting minimal effort.

        You did misunderstand.

        I was talking in terms of Full Minors Rosters (that was topic I was responding to and quoted) that if it didn't include playable Single A teams or added real minor league players and just expanded the roster slots by 10 per team, I would be happy with that.

        Never did I say nor imply that this is all I wanted out of franchise mode.

          One thing I am anxious to hear about is how, if they are indeed expanding rosters past 90 spots, how that will work with carryover saves.

          I am currently 15 games away from the end of the regular season and want to get started on my offseason as I like to do it on the current game, before carrying over to the new installment.

          But...depending on how this is going to work, I may hold off and not do the offseason until '20, if there is a chance that rosters could get messed up due to the addition of roster spots.

            Gotcha. I read it as if “all they did for franchise mode was add 10 spots, I’d be quite happy”.

            I get you just meant regarding that Full minors feature and that makes more sense.

            I would rather have real players so I can start my franchise day one, but you guys have made excellent points about additional roster slots so excited to see what comes out of the stream.

              Additional roster spots is just one of many improvements/additions/changes that is needed for franchise mode.

              For example:

              If all they do is add 10 spots per team and don't re-work the financials then its going to cause a lot more problems then it solves.

              Just to put it out there, and not that it really matters but here are some of the things that I feel are needed within franchise mode:

              * rotating interleague schedule
              * continue to work on roster management by CPU
              * additional roster spots
              * international signing period
              * player morale either needs to be re-worked or scrapped all together
              * the whole scouting process needs to be re-done or at least enhanced
              * injuries need to be re-done (having them stay attached to a player like NBA 2K)
              * managers need to be more than just a name and a value (+/- on attributes)
              * the draft needs to be more expansive. Too basic for baseball in my opinion
              * more stats and then more stats on top of that...and then more stats
              * Spring Training needs to be its own "season" per se and not just an add on

              I have more, but these are my top targets...LOL

              And I truly hope we get both real minor leaguers and additional spots.

                I was always curious if your players really do get a ratings boost from hiring "A" rated managers / coaches.

                  what we really need is a import player option into franchise. I have been saying this for 7 years now. now if they are going full on expanded roster this needs to be in there. there is nothing worse then having to keep resting your franchise because you forgot a few players.

                  usually to get around it I keep a few fake players or players with Service time hanging in a roster but I can run out fast. then I take a video and create the player which can take a good 30 min per player import player problem solved in 10 seconds, same goes for the year to year saves. importing over players that turn generic

                    I believe they do but the effects, IMO and experience, are minimal at best.

                      Ok.. if we just got interleague rotating schedules and nothing else, I’d not make one complaint! I guess we all have our one major want and would be ok.

                          What else can I do? If I don't buy the game and play franchise as much as I can, they'll look at their numbers and say "Hmm, we should spend even less consideration on franchise mode." I could write a 10 page thesis on how much I hate their reliance on data.

                          I'll take what I can get and I will run with it. Besides, franchise mode as it exists right now is a classic case of "so close, yet so far".

                            If you look, it shows exactly what specific ratings each manager impacts for the roster. The grades simply just represent the net positive of those ratings. So, "A" Managers simply tend to have the most positive and least negative affects (well, and now help morale for players who care about that).

                            All coaches affect 4 attributes ranging from -3 to +3. So someone might be +3 in Spd, +1 in Arm Strength, +2 in Bunting, and -1 in Plate discipline.

                            They also change based on the job. So a "C" manager might make a good pitching or batting coach, etc.

                            The fact that it's overly simplified aside (I could write a book on overhauling it...lol), my biggest gripe is that they are random and static.

                            I would prefer if, at a minimum, they try to better match the effects to the managers (or, better yet, simply let us edit them) and allow them to adapt / change in franchise based on performance. I

                            mean, the effects are minor, but it bugs me that my guys lose 3 points to plate vision simply because Alex Cora is their manager (and, let's be honest, given recent news, I would say that should be a boost if anything )

                              One of the most glaring issues every year is the cluster that is the postseason rosters. I can't even remember the details but somehow if you're not on the 25-man you can't pull guys up for the postseason roster.

                              CPU also needs better roster management in the postseason. For example, they need to use four-man rotations and keep one additional bench player on the postseason teams.
