There was a camera setting which allowed you to watch an entire game from anywhere in the stadium.

It took about 3 seasons if I remember correctly to fully train a player at a new position. The downside was you could train Prince Fielder to be a shortstop if you wanted to.
There was a risk/reward to leaving guys in level too long or advancing then too quick.

Year to year stats and minor stats. Even split stats when players were traded. An almanac of milestones. It had alot. I played that game until 2006.

      Re: Franchise changes

Franchise would be a much better product, if they just use some of those RTTS features.

      1. Offer you to play in a minor league games in a player lock scenarios of a player that may get called up.

      2. Quirk alert when you play in the minors, you get an opportunity to influence whether or not that minor gets that quirk when you play as him in the minors it can be part of the dynamic attribute rising and falling.

      3. Relationships nothing more needs to be said.

      4. RTTS manager player dialogue send up call down talk about your hitting and fielding as well as on the fielding training.

And a whole lot more, just use what you already have in the game to improve Franchise, that could be a starting point.

I've played manager mode on MLB and I would love the ability to mess with the camera more. I never liked the options that are given.

No offense intended but that gimmick stuff should remain in other modes and left out of franchise.

None of what I mentioned is a gimmick, RTTS is essentially Franchise, just from the player side. Franchise needs to be injected with some freshness, this stuff is already there and gives you an incentive to play some minor league games as well see how those players play outside of some arbitrary numbers.

I didn’t see a lot of what might be described as gimmicks there.

Relationships between catchers and pitchers should play a role in a deeper franchise mode. If a pitcher pairs with one catcher better than another then maybe I need to manage my lineups better so they can be ready to play on the same day.

Could all be added aspects to a revised morale system.

Franchise should be excellent gameplay and perfectly rendered stadiums in a statically accurate environment. The more gimmicks you introduce the less realistic it becomes.

Franchise users deserve one mode free from the short attention span stuff.

I love Quick Manage mode. I can get through a lot more seasons in franchise. I just wish they had visual after making your choices. Maybe combine it with Manage Only mode as an option.

I wish they add Post-season stats and a better history tab under each player. I hate not knowing how I acquired a player deep into a franchise mode (currently on year 15).

There is a section under the TRANSACTIONS tab that says ROSTER HISTORY or something along those lines that will show in which year you acquired a player and how

It's bugged though. Any player you extend through the new extension system shows up as coming in through free agency.

Oh I didn't know that, as I haven't extended a player through the new extension system, since the CPU doesn't use it.

The CPU never extends any of their player contracts?

During the season...they don't, at least not that I've experienced.
