Baseball ? Oh yeah that’s Right. I knew I’d pay for the DD comment, guess I’m getting old but I miss sports games when it was about the sport not fantasy teams digital cards designed like a mmo.
The politics comment has no business here and strays from the original analogy that you were trying to make.

On topic: I dont agree with the notion that giving franchise more attention would not see more users for it. I could give numerous anecdotal examples of casual baseball fans who ask me every year if franchise has been given attention to be worth buying. Those may be nothing more than isolated examples, but I tend to think that they arent. Logically, in the era before DD and micro transactions in sports video games, franchise additions did bring in new users as well as maintain old ones. So, why would we think that has changed?

If we are only talking about what is best for the financial house of SDS though then yeah, any mode that offers a continuous revenue stream. Is going to win out.

Shouldn't we be taking into account the game crossing over to Microsoft and next Gen consoles dropping in the fall when critiquing effort of into improvements made?

I know their track record doesnt lead to a great belief of these reasons being legit, but one would have to think this is consuming a great majority of their resources and they'd want to make a big splash in next gen and on Microsoft consoles.

Give me the option to manage my own roster during game days. Players can get injuries during games but all long term injuries are based on real life. Standings and stats would be close to real life, only impacted by my games and off by the differences in my results.

That’s what I want. Cause that’s essentially what I try to do each year with doing real life transactions for every team as the season progresses.

Same, man. Same! I hadn’t played 2k in years and just started again this year and being able to start today w stats is a godsend. I do the same thing on the Show. Spend insane hours trying to get stats etc to line up.

I don't think it would make a difference. look at modes like ultimate team. they could release the same mode for 10 years with minimal changes. and it would still make all the $$$$ all that modes goes into the marketing of the game it's all you hear about and people go along with it and eat it alive year after year.

One thing I'm hoping for as a franchise player is the ability to finally create true utility players. Guys that can play all infield and outfield positions, and some that can play all 8 "fielding" positions.

It's frustrating that I cannot have Tommy Edman (he's a CAP in my carryover) be able to play 2B, SS, 3B, and OF like he has in real life.

Please please please SDS, open up the secondary positions to include something allow us a better ability to create guys that can play the infield/outfield.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

On that note, isn't it odd when you have a guy that can play CF, but his secondary positions don't include the other OF spots? Like, CF and a couple INF positions. Something tells me he could also play LF and RF......

IMO every CF'er should be able to play LF w/no penalty. as for RF, they should have no fielding penalty here either. the only thing that should make you hesitate putting a CF'er in RF is if there's a runner on base and he has a weak arm strength rating.

Yep considering this is becoming more then a thing now, the Ben zobrist type players. and if you have a player like that, if you accidentally screw up and change the primary position you can't unfix it the only fix I have is to make someone a RF or LF and secondary INF so it covers all INF but only 1 outfielder. still though the CPU freaks out and subs a player if you start a RF at LF it's stupid

Itd make the most sense, but what top 100 are you going off of? Site rankings vary differently.

They probably tried getting as many top guys as possible. But, as with Trout for years, they still had to go through the process.

Tim Tebow is not a top prospect and according to the video from a few weeks ago he has a face scan.

The ability for SCEA to update face scans throughout all game modes is a huge win.

My guess would be the official MLB top 100 prospect rankings from MLB Pipeline.
