i have always just taken away draft picks or something. Then I had the idea of "injuring" players to equal suspensions and just wanted to talk it out with like minded folks here on OS.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Actually this wasn't meant to be a joke at all. I was truly looking for input/opinions into suspending players in Franchise Mode.

Re: I want to Punish the Astros in my Franchise
I've decided I'll hold off on suspensions in my league, at least for awhile. when I go headhunting some Asstros in 20 and put the ol' Bob Gibson on 'em, I dont want it to be a bunch of scrubs from the minors. it has to be the core of the 2017 ''champs*'' . I'm just glad Evan Gattis and Brian McCann retired, I just cant view them the way I used to, not even in a video game. maybe as an alternative punishment I'll disperse their top 14 MiLB prospects across the rest of the American League and send those 14 teams worst prospect to Houston. maybe I'll also ''fine'' players from the 2017 season by editing down their salary. hit 'em where it hurts, right in the old morale booster.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Oh and do I find apple watches in the equipment tab in edit mode for players? Some of my Red Sox players seem unhappy so I thoughts ownership would give them out and boost that morale we all know and love.Comment

Washington actually earned their ring, and most of us just want justice. if we can't get from Manfred, at least we can get it from the Show.
I will admit I'm hoping Quentin Tarentino's next revenge movie is a fictional retelling of Houston's 2017 ch*mpi*nshipOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: I want to Punish the Astros in my Franchise
The Angels have fired their visiting clubhouse manager for providing ball-doctoring substances to opposing pitchers, sources confirmed to ESPN. Brian Harkins provided a substance that consisted of a melted-down pine-tar solution and rosin, a source said.
Clearly. ONLY the Astros would ever cheat. He was probably hired by the Astros

Re: I want to Punish the Astros in my Franchise
Sorry for “virtue signaling”
I don’t know anything. I’ll take my “drama” elsewhere. The Astros are the worst thing to ever to happen to baseball and they have RUINED the purity of baseball!

Re: I want to Punish the Astros in my Franchise
Wow, I'm glad in my 2014 carry over franchise the Astros didn't do any of this; try as I may I just can't get them out of the basement. I don't always play with the sound on so maybe the players weren't hearing the banging in my game?

I would say:
* -10 from Main Guys Default Ratings, that cheated: Contact, Power, Vision, Discipline, and Clutch Ratings. Also, -5 from their Potential.
*Take there Top 2-Draft Picks from 2020+ 2021 Seasons, and give them to the other teams in their Division, starting with the Worst Win-loss record to the Best.Comment

Re: I want to Punish the Astros in my Franchise
I'm not an Astros fan. What they did was dirty and they deserve the ridicule. But as a baseball fan they are not the only ones to get caught using an elaborate sign stealing operation. The Red Sox in 17 using Apple watches, and the Yanks too. The Red Sox in 18 are under investigation for using the video room. I'm a Mets fan and I'm pretty certain if the Astros didn't get caught then Beltran would have brought that system to NYC. The Phillies of 08 era were notorious for using cell phones to relay signs seen from the outfield. There were a couple others around that time who also were engaged in that, but the Phillies were the ones caught and MLB sent a fax to all teams to knock it off. The Braves and Cards front offices recently caught doing illegal acts. The whole steroid era. Mike Scott's scuff ball. Doc Gooden and Strawberry coked up while playing. Spitters. Joe Niekro's emery board. The White Sox using the scoreboard to tip pitches. The list is huge and I'd be surprised if there was a team that never did anything. So watching these constant posts/memes/threads pop up here and elsewhere is a bit much. The Astros might deserve it, but their fans don't and they're the ones on here reading this day in and out.
Yeah, its not like the Astros are the 1st team to ever cheat, not trying to diminish what they did, as it was about as bad as those who did steriods, some MLB pitchers have said it was worse, as those on PEDS didn't know what pitch was coming, like Astro players.
Should the players have been punished, yeah I think they all should have faced fines and suspensions, the Commissioner should have did more, but it is what it is, and players were given immunity to come forward, however, I think we all know Altuve was wired, and your lying to yourself if you think he wasn't.
I figured when they started using more technology based stuff, that something like this was probably going to happen, it was just a matter of time. Players and teams are always looking for a edge, heck players used steroids that could be harmful to their health just to get a edge, so this type of stuff has been happening in sports, since well forever, lol. Using technology was going a bit too far, and the MLB Front Office should have known, when they started allowing the use of more tech based stuff into clubhouses and dugouts, that something like this was bound to happen.
People can debate over what the punishment should have been, but its water under the bridge and everyone just needs to move on. Now if I was a pitcher on a opposing team, especially if my name was Aroldis Chapman, Altuve would be wearing a fastball in the middle of the back. And I figure at some point that will happen. But the real punishment is that not just that they will be heckled even more on the road for being cheats, but even many of their own fans are angry at them, and will heckle them, especially if they get into a slump, lol
In time this will all pass, and all will be forgiven, that is unless your Pete Rose. Not that I think Pete's punishment was to harsh, but considering what we have seen with the PED's and now likely having some PED users in the HOF, and now this whole new level of cheating that the Astros and Red Sox have brought in, I think Pete Rose ban should be lifted. Up until this point, I wouldn't have said that.
Also it seems the Astros are getting the most criticism around baseball, yet the Red Sox are just as guilty, as they likely both won World Series titles cheating. That's what kind of upsets me, it seems IMO anyway, all I hear is how the Astros cheated, well the Red Sox did the same thing, so they deserve to be heckled just as much as far as Im concerned. Maybe Im letting my biasness get the best of me, because I like the Astros better than I do the Red Sox, but it just seems to me that all the talk is focused on the Astros, when Boston was also cheating, but maybe its because the Astros were better at it, than Boston was, LOL.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11
