what catches me out at least once a year is accidentally hitting save live rosters instead of manage roster then it defaults to the default roster. and you lose any unsaved work! I wish they fixed this up. it's so easy to waste 30 mins of work I did it once already today, you should have to load the damm roster for it to load.

that will be interesting because some players they are not allowed to add until they play a MLB game again this year by that union law. seeing as we could not even have a season dunno how some players get added then

That’s it! Sending players up and down is a big part of Franchise play. I’m not hanging around waiting for it to be fixed like last year. Straight into Bacons Fictional for me.

Did a deep dive on this!
Yes, every player on the roster is available to start as a position player. So your scenario is possible.
In addition, if that player (SP) starts at 3B for 20 games he will achieve 2 way status and will not count against your 13 pitcher limit on the 26 man roster.

So are you just gonna bite the bullet and start one now? Are rosters good enough to start?

Re: MLB The Show 20 Q&A Thread

I've run one sim to 2024 so far but here's what I noticed:

                - Pujols retired end of 2022 season
                - Miggy retired end of 2023
                - Not sure if that's the end of their contracts but it's an improvement over last year for Miggy and Pujols
                - Highest player in free agency was a 79 ovr and mid to late 30s
                - stats are still favouring hitters (averages slightly too high and WHIPs correspondingly slightly too high)
                - ratings actually aren't a huge issue despite having loads of A and B potential players but too many hitters are reaching the low 80s while pitcher growth seems more realistic/acceptable
                - trades are still the same, although maybe more 1 for 2 or 1 for 3 trades with prospects
                - prospects having 1 option is frustrating
                - contracts are still displayed incorrectly in the pop ups during the off-season (i.e. they undervalue the contract). This is only a graphical issue but still sloppy
                - everything seems mostly unchanged from last year in franchise mode (for better or worse)

I am happy to do a video or deeper dive if people are interested.

If you check the stance socks on alt 3, it's set up for the powder blues so something gone wrong there for sure...
what boggles my mind is why do players have grey dirt on unis when playing in rogere centre, such an eye sore lol (after sliding)

There was some speculation in the roster forum some time ago, based on some screenshots, that it *might* be possible some way to transfer an actual roster file from 19 into 20 without running it through franchise and exporting all the players...can someone take a look at this?

*EDIT: doncropper confirms in roster section that you CAN indeed do this. Year-to-year roster transfers appears to be in.

It’s like buying NBA 2K and the game is missing 2/10 rookies and a handful of veterans

If guys paperwork isn’t approved he cant be in the game, been that way always and yes when 2K is released before the season starts there is always players missing, rookie and veterans. This work stoppage will probably slow things down but its not Sonys fault. We and they added anyone we could add and then some. My team will have an update out quickly with real FA and with all the missing players.

Yes! Thats how its supposed to work with 2 way players! Going forward in Franchise any pitcher you sign or draft with high batting abilities will be able to be “trained” or used as a position player and become 2 way once they meet the qualifications.

In 19 what I found is older guys severely regressed if a player played over them. Making them retire earlier than their contract. Miggy, Pujols, and Cano prime examples.

As the league progresses forces guys out. Saw trout hit 30 hr in one sim and then Angles released him and ate the 150 mil. Owed.

Was hoping it's better. Want to sim and see if playoff eligibility is fixed.

                                Questions

                                1. Has anyone checked to see if the innerleague schedules rotate?

                                2. Do injuries occur in played MOM games?

                                3. How are relief pitcher appearances? Do National League pitchers still have close to 100 appearances by end of year.

If anyone has simmed to see any of this, would be great to hear from you
