Is there a way to keep the CPU from rearranging your line ups? Any time there's a trade or call up (and a few other times) the CPU will reset the lineup.

Re: March to October thread
Looking forward to another game or two later. It's too bad the rosters are messy right now because MTO is a fun way to play if you're not able to franchise and aren't interested in DD. The Bucs don't even have a lefty on the staff! Guess I'll have to swing a deal... Or a few because their bullpen stinks and I can already tell it's a huge part of MTO.Comment

Re: March to October thread
Giving this mode a go for the first time and rolling with the Twins. Surprised how much I like it. I’ll probably end up doing 3, 1 team from each of the 3 groups, before I get back into a franchise.

Re: March to October thread
I messed around with it a bit in '19 and actually liked it. I'll definitely be playing this year and will probably use it to start one of my franchises.
Once you play through it and it becomes a regular franchise, are you able to change difficulty/sliders, or are you stuck with the original MTO settings?

Re: March to October thread
Hadn't played the Show since 17, so gave this mode a try after picking up the game yesterday. Played as the Angels.
First game, beat Astros 5-0 with a 5-run eighth (or ninth, I forget), as Ohtani outdueled Verlander in a rare double complete game.
CPU simmed second game. Third game started in 7th inning with Teheran pitching no-hitter. After two outs, someone broke it with a single. I still won 13-1.
Questions:
1. In that second game, I was locked on Teheran. I thought I inadvertently hit the wrong button and tried to get out of it, but couldn't. But I see here, it automatically has you in player lock in random games. Is that correct?
2. Also, I tried going to the bullpen in that game but the manage option was locked, even though whoever was warming in the pen was ready. Teheran ended up with 126 pitches. Not realistic. Can you not go to the pen when you want?
Not sure if I'll continue. I like having full control from start to finish of games and keeping stats of how well I hit and pitch. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: March to October thread
Set up my trade stuff prior to my last game. Seeking LF, RP, and C for positions and power and LHP for needs. Put some fake minor leaguers on the block, along with a 72ovr A SP (Brandon Waddell, has no business being an A). Not bad for a trading UI.
Next game I was dropped in the top of 9th at home against the Cubs. Tied 1-1, with two on and one out. Nick Burdi (took the L on opening day) gets Ian Happ to ground into a double play on the first pitch. Heart of the order due up, Reynolds grounds out on nice play by 2B. Polanco singles, Bell just gets under one and flies out. Colin Moran slices one down the LF line and I'm ready to send Polanco (45 spd)... Until the ball hops the wall.
Now 2nd & 3rd with two out for Jacob Stallings (40ish hitter). With two strikes I sit oppo/contact and poke a flair over Rizzo to walk it off. 3 out of 4 sim wins and the Bucs are 9-5. Next up is a player lock game with Kevin Newman for a season boost. Digging it.Comment

Re: March to October thread
First time playing it and I definitely enjoyed. But I had a division tiebreaker game and the wild card game start with most of my better hitters on the bench. So I moved them in but then had no position subs for later in the game. Lost both games so I'm pretty soured.
Maybe I missed a setting? Or it's another dumb glitch.Comment

Re: March to October thread
I'm on my first run, but I'm planning on playing through 28 MTOs - one for every team, excluding Boston and Houston. I'm in early June with the Yankees with a fairly comfortable lead in the AL East. Dynamic difficulty starting on HOF.

You can change your lineups but the CPU also sits guys if their tired. So it may be a mute point.Comment

Re: March to October thread
Went 3 for 5 with a steal in player lock with Newman; he has +2 (out of 3) boost for the season (whatever that means). But we lost the game, and the next key moment when my rally in LA ended with the potential tying run thrown out at the dish by Mookie Betts in the top of the 9th. Cold momentum and a five game losing streak has the Buccos at 12-12 looking to avoid a sweep by the Brewers.
Almost forgot, I was able to call up Robbie Erlin (68) for Doyvydas Neverauskas (59). So I at least have a lefty in the pen. Sorry about the demotion my Lithuanian brother!Last edited by Qb; 03-19-2020, 06:28 PM.Comment

Re: March to October thread
So the Rays clinch the WS over the Dodgers in 5, with Jonathon Schoop getting WS MVP after 4 homers in the 5 games.
Austin Meadows ends the season as MVP with 49 homers and a .356 batting average, which is pretty obscene. Generally the numbers for my players in general are far too high, but I guess the sim engine makes us end up needing to get some high numbers to justify the win count.
Reckon it's one and done for me though as I wasn't particularly enjoying it. I thought I might use it to jump start a year 2 save, but the baseball world seems to be a complete mess after a season of it unfortunately. The franchise AI looks worse than ever, presumably because of these new rosters and the lack of minor league options, about 40 players got drafted in the Rule 5 draft, about 50 trades were made as soon as everyone had singed free agents (including multiple newly signed players getting traded straight away). The whole thing was an absolute mess.Comment
