How in the world did you release a fictional

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

Using Bacon's Fictional Roster for 2020, The Ultimate Baseball League (UBL) has been assembled. 30 teams, 1 goal. To stand alone as THE Ultimate Champion.

NL East: Death Valley Undertakers, Syracuse Bearcats, Atlantic City Aces, Erie Phantoms,
        San Juan Waves

NL Central: Indiana Outlaws, Columbus Rampage, Motor City Machine, Austin Hitmen, Santo Domingo Naturals

NL West: East Bay Admirals, Bay Area Butchers, Havana Rogues, Hollywood Elite, Las Vegas Bandits

AL East: Winston-Salem Skyhawks, Harlem Knights, Connecticut Barons, Birmingham Express, Louisville Defenders

AL Central: New Orleans Dukes, Louisiana Vipers, Phoenix Stars, San Antonio Lonestars, San Andreas Rough Riders

AL West: No. California Scorpions, So. California Invaders, Fresno Pitbulls, San Jose Thunder, Bakersfield Storm

I will be running the Death Valley Undertakers, which will use the Mets fictional squad.

As spring training begins, The Undertakers are primed to make a run at the title. Offensively, the team is led by one of the best hitters in all of baseball, 1B Rex West. Still only 25, he has elite contact and power and should be in the MVP conversation. West is joined by 3B James Anderson, RF Marco Mendoza and SS DJ Triplett to form a solid top four in the lineup.

On the Mound, the they are led by Cy Young Candidate Andy Marchetti. The 24 year old looks to anchor this staff with fellow pitcher Rafeal Rivera, who looks to show that he can be an ace in his own right.

On the Farm, the team has some rebuilding to do. DVU does not have a wealth of prospects and will need to really focus on draft scouting. Despite the lack of deep talent, there is reason to be excited about a couple of high potential prospects in 19 Year old pitcher Tobias Tejada and 21 year old LF Russell Smith.

First decisions that are needed in Spring training:

        - Sign Rex West To a contract extension
        - Address the lack of a left handed bat off the bench
        - Address the lack of UBL ready starting pitching depth. Should anyone in the top 5 get injured, the next guys available are minor leaguers nowhere near ready for prime time.
        - Address the lack of backup at 1B for West

25 year old 2B Felipe Quinones is a candidate to be traded to add depth elsewhere, with 35 year old veteran Rico Infante taking over as the starting 2nd baseman.

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread

Quick update on the start of my franchise.

Simmed through Spring Training and started with Opening Day. Played the Brewers: Edwin Rodrigues (CHC) v. Austin Wright (MIL).

Wright shoved, pitching 7 no-hit innings with 12 Ks as the Brewers built a 4-0 lead. The Cubs finally get in the H column with a leadoff double and on the board with a single from the following batter. After a walk to put runners on 1st and 2nd, the Brewers make a pitching change with Oscar Rodriguez coming to the plate (DH'ing as I decided to go DH for both leagues). Rodriguez swung through 2 breaking balls, took a FB up in the zone for a ball, then tattooed a hanging curve for a 453 foot HR to tie it up. The Cubs took the lead 3 batters later and headed to the 9th with a 5-4 lead.

88 OVR closer Mario Oquendo entered the 9th with a chance for his first save of the season. After walking the first batter, 1B Frankie Fernandez (known for his bat, not his glove) misplays a bunt. A single through the middle loaded the bases, another single through the middle tied the game, and Derek Hills (2B) hit a walk off grand slam. Cubs lose 9-5.

We've scored 13 and 8 runs the last two games (4-3 now) as the offense is alive. The pitching is rough, however. I'm probably going to blow it up at the deadline as there are some solid veteran pieces, but need an influx of youthful talent.

I actually just played a play now game with the Brewers. They’re like a middle of the road team. I like their SS Flash (can’t remember maybe Wilson) though. I went 3-4 with a HR with him.

Going to give both Crimson's and Bacon's fictional rosters a go. This actually works out well, as I want to do multiple franchises using different levels of play. I can use different roster for each franchise.

I've downloaded Bacon's 2020 fictional roster and boy, did it catch me off guard (in a good way) with how different the team ratings/rankings are from stock rosters. This is going to be a lot of fun!

Not to speak for Bacon but this year you can actually import last years rosters into the new game. So he didn't have to start over from scratch this year and could just start work with the old roster and add the players and tweaks that he wanted to.

Funny you mention Flash. He made a great impression on me with a lead-off tater to start the Brewer's season at the plate and later hit a clutch RBI single. I like his batting stance.

I’m pretty sure that’s what he did, and just added some new players.

Something cool I did was found a Jose Fernandez CAP and made a Oscar Taveras CAP. I’m a Cardinals and a Marlins fan and I thought it’d be cool to see these guys again.

I must say, the vault has done flames this season.

Trying out Bacon's roster, I will do a Cubs Franchise as I always do once YFM drops so i went with an AL team for this Chise.

Went with Baltimore. Always liked their stadium and never play as an AL team.

Opening day against the Yanks and got destroyed 10-0 lol. Playing with Armor's sliders. Vince Cartwright is nasty! Switch throwing pitcher who hits 101mph!

I was down 4-0 for the majority of the game. Chad Looper went 3-5 against me with 3 HR and 8 RBI.

Already know my favorite player on my team is 3b Tiny Ryan! 5'6 and 155lbs.

                          Starting game 2 now!
