Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
Preparing to start with Bacon's roster very soon. I have had limited time over the past days to edit but I'm working on creating 30 custom teams. I'm at 14 right now and can hopefully get in four a day going forward before starting right after.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
Well, just after the draft Hack Stephenson went down with a 2 month injury so had to call up someone to replace him in the starting lineup. Called up Kyle Price Jr who is my number 3 prospect but only 64 overall. He has started off hitting around .300 through 10 games so holding his own.
I’m about 2 weeks out from the AS break. I currently have 4 or 5 players in line to make the team:
SP Fleming
CP Lopez
C Warner
SS Triplett
RF Relaford
I’ve fallen behind the Rays in the division race but still 6 games up in the WC. Will probably look to address 2B, 3B, or SP at the deadline as they are my weakest positions unless more injuries occur.

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
A couple of things to know/consider once you get to the off-season:
I tried to rebrand the team I relocated at the start of the franchise to change my uniforms. The changes did not stick, and I'm not really sure why. I simmed through the 2nd season and did the same in the off-season heading into the 3rd season and the changes did stick for that one. So there might be a one year waiting period if you want to make any changes? I don't know.
The other big thing was the rosters in the off-season. When it first started, I noticed no teams were offering contracts to free agents that weren't on their own teams the previous season. I didn't figure out why until about a week into free agency; each team had more than 90 players on their rosters. I had to manually go through and release a bunch of poorly rated players on each team's roster in order to get them to be active in FA. Unfortunately, most of the highest rated players had already re-signed with their old teams, so it thinned out FA a bit. Just something to be aware of if you don't do 30 team control, the first off-season might not see much action in FA.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
Haven't started my fictional franchise yet, but I made a spreadsheet to keep track of divisions/stadiums. It's very much still work in progress. Around 20 teams have been finished.
How do you guys feel about some of the team names? I was having trouble coming up with some of them. Especially for Arizona, Miami, and Jacksonville.
I'm open to suggestions.Fan of:

Maybe the Arizona Rattlesnakes or the Gray Wolves. I just googled Arizona desert wildlife and got those and jackrabbits, roadrunners and the Gila monster. Just a few ideas.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
Since today was supposed to be Opening Day throughout Major League Baseball, I decided there's no better time to start my own franchise than today!
I did a fantasy draft and got lucky with the first overall pick. I went with Rex West and I'll post more of my roster somewhere in 'My Arena' shortly.
I did a full 30 team rebrand series with their own nicknames and logos from throughout the vault. For myself at least, I generally like to make realistically fictional uniforms to go along with my realistically fictional rosters. I'll post the pictures of my uniforms shortly as well and logos re-uploaded to the vault as well.

San Diego Padres Spring Training Wrap-UpSan Diego finishes up spring training performing to expectations. The Padres posted the 9th best record in the Cactus League finishing 12-14. The standout performer was 30 year old, center fielder Rolando Rodriguez (.348 BA, 4 HR, 11 RBI, 7 Steals in 92 plate appearances) Meanwhile of the young talent from the farm system 23 yr old pitcher Michael Money (1-1, 15.1 innings, 18 SO, 2.93 ERA) and 24 yr old outfielder Preston Steiner (.417 BA, 2 HR, 5 RBI in 24 AB) got themselves noticed.

Throughout spring training San Diego showed flashes of brilliance but the inconsistent results from the pitching staff could be an issue as the regular season gets under way. At the plate is where the Padres showed the most consistent results scoring 2 or more runs in 20 of 26 games and only being shutout once. Many expect San Diego to be a middle of the pack team but if the Friars can maintain their form at the plate and string together good results on the mound they could be the surprise team of the season.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 03-27-2020, 12:28 AM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
Curious to know...
About how many A and B prospects are on your teams?
I recently did a fantasy draft and made out like a bandit(especially in the later simmed rounds) but I don't like hording prospects, so I've been trading them away for lesser value.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20: Fictional Franchise Progress Thread
I only ended up with two As and a few Bs that were not major league ready. So I did not have a strong minor league system. One caveat here was I summed after the 5th round so my minors were 100% CPU drafted.

I got 4 As and 7 Bs but felt cheated afterwards. Happy about it overall though.Comment

I'm thinking of doing a draft and wondered what people try to do ? Go for speed for power, draft pitching early ?
Also some players seem to have different overall ratings when listed to when you click on them.
Id appreciate any drafting tipsComment
