I try to get an ace early, in the first 2 rounds. Then I go strong up the middle, so my first position player picks are SS/CF/C.

After that I just go BPA

Yeah I usually try to get guys 26 and younger in the first 5 rounds. After that it's not as important

The Chicago Cubs Season is underway!

During spring training it was apparent the Cubs needed to make relief pitching a priority. So the front office had some tough decisions to make with the current roster. While they are in the midst of securing the top starters on the club, the Front office needed to shed some salary to make sure they could resign the core of the rotation, mainly Edwin Rodriguez(94 ovr) who is looking at 100+mil contract.

The Cubs first move was unloading 3B Sam Quintero and his 7.5m contract along with 2 pitching prospects to the Dodgers for RP Brandon Perkins and Starter Kirby Pace who should slide into the 4th spot in the rotation.

The Cubs also decided to trade CF Reggie Kellogg(78 ovr-A pot) and 2 prospects to the Tigers for RP Carlos De La Torre, CF Dario Suarez(Kelloggs replacement) and 3B Jaylen Pain(Quinteros replacement). Kellogg was in year 1 of a 6yr, 129m deal.

Hopefully these moves will work out for both clubs as the regular season draws near.

              San Diego Padres March Madness
              =
It's only the begin of the season and we're only 6 games into a long season but the Padres need to course correct. After securing wins in their first two games against the Rockies. Things began to slide as San Diego drop the next 4 games to the Rockies and Braves. Not the kind of performance you want in front of the home fans. 3 of the 4 losses saw the Padres behind the 8-ball in the first inning. Giving up 3 or more runs early. Poor performances on the mound and at the plate for the Friars as they currently carry the worst batting average (.192) and in the MLB and managing a just solitary home-run thus far. It's early in a long campaign but should these poor performances continue the Padres manager could see himself on the hot seat.

Their probably the best team in my mind. Relaford and their 2B hits bombs, and Cartwright is a total beast!

I actually just played SDP and lost to them 10-8. I dealt them RF Angel Sanchez, that would maybe be a good get for your team. He's a beast, I was just looking to rebuild.

I acquired CP Tyler Anderson and SP Michael Money for him.

Michael Money should be a good pickup for you.

I'll have to check out Angel Sanchez. SD have a lot of good pieces I just need to upgrade here and there.

                      Chicago Cubs Franchise

Well the Cubs front office extended 2 key players at the end of Spring Training. First up was Left fielder Bryce Lewis. He agreed to a 3yr extension worth $38.5m. The Cubs then locked up their ace Edwin Rodriguez with a 5yr extention worth a little over $100m. "We're not done yet" Said the Cubs GM Cal Varnson. "We have a few more guys we'd like to extend, but we'll wait and see how things play out" The Cubs open the season In Milwaukee in what should be an exciting series to kick things off!

I just gave up a homerun to the White Sox 2B Bobby Lockett. We both know that he is getting drilled next time up. I've never seen a bigger showboat. haha I love these fictional rosters.

                          Chicago Cubs Franchise

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Chicago Cubs have contacted the Chicago White Sox about a possible deal for second baseman Bobby Lockett. "The Cubs are indeed looking for an upgrade at second base" Rosenthal reported. "Listen, they have Blair King and Jon Olson breaking camp as a platoon, that gets no one excited!" laughed Rosenthal. "According to my sources, the White Sox price for the soon to be Free agent were just to high for a possible one year rental". "I'm hearing that one of the pieces was Cubs closer Mario Oquendo, which, with the troubles the Cubs are having with the Bullpen, they were not parting ways with him".

" I also heard that Cubs Starter Tanner Wood was also looking for an extension this spring, but at 32, the Cubs we're taking the let's see how you hold up this season before we commit approach. Should be an interesting summer this year on the North side."

Kole Robertson struck out the first 7 he faced ending with 17 total strikeouts, only 2 hits and somehow allowed a rocket of a home run in the deep into the right field stands. How does my respond a single and a double so now we have two in scoring position, then pitcher, yes that pitcher! Kole Robertson draws a walk to load the bases! The next two batters hit shallow pop fly balls just a bit outside of the infield. Okay one last shot... bases loaded batter launches a rocket to apparently the trackstar RF that catches it with ease, that shot would have flew over anyone elses head. Rest of the game couldn't get anything going the end.

I just put in one of my most dominating pitching performances ever and still managed to lose. [emoji52]

I have to shut it down for a few hours now, otherwise I'm going to play angry and that's never good. [emoji23]

The 2020 season is upon us and what an opening series it was for the Cubs!

                                Game 1:
The newly extended Edwin Rodriguez took the hill for the opener and showed why the Cubs invested big money in him. Rodriguez allowed 5 hits through 7 shutout innings, walked 1 and struck out 7 to lead the Cubs to an opening day 2-0 win over the Brewers! The Bullpen, which is the weak link showed up big, newly acquired Carlos De La Torre struck out the side in the 8th and Cubs Closer Mario Oquendo struck out 2 in the 9th for his first save!

                                Game 2:

Game 2 saw Tanner Wood on the Hill for the Cubs. Wood pitched ok, Went 7 innings, 5 hits, 4 earned runs and 9k's. Ahead 6-4 in the 9th, Cubs Closer Mario Oquendo gave up a 2 run HR to Brewers Lf Michael McCoy to tie the game! The Cubs offense, specifically catcher Benji Perez would bail them out in the 10th. Perez crushed a 3 run HR to cap off a 5 run 10th that gave the Cubs an 11-6 win!

                                Game 3:

Southpaw Casey Lockheart on the mound for the Cubs who were trying to go for the sweep on opening weekend. Lockheart went 8 innings, gave up 1 run and struck out 4. That 1 run was enough for the Brew Crew as they avoided the sweep with a 1-0 win.
