Button Accuracy with Throw Meter turned OFF was resulting in too many perfect throws. This has been fixed and adjusted for balance.

This is the complete opposite of what was happening. Whether your were using button or analog with the meter off it was producing too many offline and over the head throws pre-patch. Anyone who uses meter off either buttons or analog
for throwing have any impressions after the patch?

Wait so i thought they claim that offline hitting was not affected by this update...what is everyone noticing so far?

No difference in hitting for me after this patch. Plays the same as it did when I first popped the game into the console 2 weeks ago.

It's a subtle thing, but I feel like the pitches are now a bit "floaty". I also had to lower my hit power - seems like I was timing things up today that I wasn't last night. And it's not a placebo - I struck out 14 times in my last night's game. Only 8 times today (and that's only because I started to get in a hurry late and chased some bad ones). It's not a bad thing, but I sense a slight change in the ball "mechanics".

Pitch speed feels the same .. but hitting feels weaker to me. Like ground balls hit come off the bat like slow choppers hit to infielders or light hitting bloopers to the outfield. Nothing feels sharply hit .. I only played to games since the patch though. I have been playing with sliders at default.

Fellow "Clean Screener" here. Bug report filled out on blue "controlled player ring" displaying even though I am playing the game with "auto" fielding on.
Now, how can I delete the patch and go to a previous version of the game?

It took me about 4 days to find the cause and fix it. It took me 5 minutes with the game to see the issue.

Ultimately the roster should have been tested before releasing.

Have to say I’m in franchise w/ Bacons 20 Roster and through March/April the computer has only made one trade. An 82SP for an 81CF. I have trade slider on 4. Seems good so far on my end.

Playing a DD extended play game on Legend (meter pitching) and I do feel like there's more rewarding pitch accuracy when I hit perfect. There's also still plenty of "in the area" inaccuracy when I don't, so this isn't binary levels of hit spot/miss spot badly like PYS which is what I was concerned about. But considering I'm using Maddux, the good inputs feel appropriately rewarding. In the competitive environment which is what this change is going to affect, that's pretty important.

Remains to be seen how the majority of the online community reacts to it though, since the majority use analog there's no way for me to predict that.

Edit: It was brought to my attention that the patch notes say the pitching change was only for head-to-head multiplayer (and not all of DD), so it's entirely possible all that stuff about Maddux above in a game vs. the CPU is confirmation bias. He's very accurate on perfect meter inputs anyway, so he's probably a bad example to use when comparing pre-patch with post-patch.
Just want to clarify: Perfect input on Meter pitching is improved for both 2P and 1P, so you were originally correct. All other accuracy improvements are 2P only.

When we look at performance stats of players using Meter and players using Analog, Analog pitchers had a small but significant advantage over Meter. So this is a small correction for that. You should be able to choose whichever one you feel comfortable, and some players will be better at one and some better at another.

You can expect to see anecdotes on every patch, even if nothing changed. When you look at a million at-bats of users grouped together, then split it by mode/interface/difficulty, everything is revealed. When you zoom in to just a game or two before or after the patch, you're more likely to see exactly what you see in MLB. Two similar games situations produce completely different results.

"The better team wins" (for a single game) is not true in baseball - game results are all over the place even when a better team plays the underdog. This is why baseball finals are played best of 7, rather than a single game. It's an inherent property of baseball, as opposed to say football or basketball. 7 games are needed, it's not just tradition or preference.

Before the patch I was getting a fair amount of injuries in games played. Post patch I have not seen an injury since. Played about 10 games. Is anyone else seeing that or is it an anomaly for me?

Wow that's very informative, thanks Brian! It's hard to say whether I feel like I'm at a disadvantage as a meter player, because I feel like I have a greater degree of control over the end location of my mistakes than an analog player. What I mean is, no analog player ever means to have a slider float down the middle when they aimed it breaking out of the zone, but it happens because they bring the analog stick through at the wrong angle. Whereas with meter, if I want to intentionally throw something out of the zone it's usually not going to be very hittable unless I just don't confirm accuracy AND get unlucky that it goes down the middle, or something like that. I feel like meter users give up a bit of control overall (especially with their good inputs), but that it's balanced somewhat by what I mentioned above. It's definitely interesting hearing the dev perspective on that though, based on the data you guys collect.

Someone in our custom league commented on seeing 4 injuries in 2 1/2 games since this patch (across all leagues they're playing in) with the slider on default. Could be an anomaly, but they're definitely still in.
