Re: MLB The Show 20: Game Update 1.05 Notes and Breakdown
Has anyone noticed any frame rate issues after this patch? I'm on PS4 Pro. Everything was silky smooth previously, then noticed today on balanced mode, framerate is acting up a bit here and there.
Did the rebuild database and all of that just in case...hasn't helped. Very strange.Comment

Yes it has. I’ve been on self-quarantine since the day the game came out early release and this is all I’ve been playing. The same pitches I could crush with a pitcher then are slow dribblers with a guy like Alonzo now with the same feedback. I am getting old, but my hand-eye hasn’t deteriorated that quickly, and again same pitch location, same feedback
My results have been all different. I get frustrated if I dont hit a homerun in 3 straight games then I have 4 games that I hit six.

What teams have you played? What pitchers have you faced? How many games have you played before making this determination? I played a series with the Dodgers post patch and hit 1 home run the entire series. Then played a 2 game series against the Mariners and hit 5. I've played 15 games post patch and have hit 12 home runs on Legend hitting.

Yeah. I think most of us just over react after a game or two. We should all remember sample size.

Lovely. Moved my PS4 Pro back downstairs and noticed hitches/frame rate issues that randomly appear no matter what team or stadium I play in. Was fine before, now weird frame rate like I’m playing on sharper mode, but in balanced mode.
Also did reconnect to the internet via cable as opposed to Wifi, may try going back to Wifi to see if that helps anyLast edited by csamuelsvt; 03-30-2020, 07:48 AM.Comment

YES ! I thought I was the only as no one commented on my post earlier ... The day of the patch. Glad someone else is experiencing this ... and not .. and not just me.
"Pitch speed feels the same .. but hitting feels weaker to me. Like ground balls hit come off the bat like slow choppers hit to infielders or light hitting bloopers to the outfield. Nothing feels sharply hit .. I only played two games since the patch though. I have been playing with sliders at default"
Since that post .. I Bumped up Timing by 1 and solid hits by 1 .. for both human and the computer.
Feels much better.

Same team, sames ratings, vs same pitcherg. Its not even just he number of homers being hit, its how hard they're being hit as well. Before patch, the no-doubt animation would trigger on most of the balls I hit out he park, now the celebration almost never triggers because the homers I hit are wall scrapers. In addition beyond just homer, even the single i hit rarely come off the bat like they're actually squared up like they did pre-patch, they're seeing-eye dribblers through splitting the defender or bloops over the infield even if the feed back is good/squared up. I'm not just imagining things or in a slump as people have tried to claim, there's definitely a difference.Comment

So we have you and others saying power was nerfed with patch.
We have others saying that every game they play is a slugfest with homerun after homerun.
And yet others, myself included, that doesn’t see a difference in hitting pre and post patch.
So based on that information how does one determine exactly what the patch did, if anything?

Re: MLB The Show 20: Game Update 1.05 Notes and Breakdown
From what I see many people with directional hitting are not seeing the homerun issue.
I use zone legend and see alot of contact, but instead of hitting 4 or 5 hr a game prepatch, I'm hitting 3 or 4 on average. Still hitting solid contact and have team batting average over .300. I was a below average HOF hitter in previous years. Moving between all star and HOF.
I think people using meter pitching are not seeing the CPU hr. I think classic pitching has lost alot of touch and balls seem to gravitate to the middle of the plate and the CPU hammers it.
That is my theory why hitting is easier. The cpu in effect uses classic pitching. Its ratings based. Too many pitches find the middle of the plate.
In short I am curious the ones who don't think CPU hits too many home runs what pitching style they use.

Classic pitching too many balls drift and hang in middle of plate.
