Long time player here (10 years at least), actually recently removed this game off my hard drive because of the numerous, incomprehensible fielding errors in this game. The positive part of the errors, is it takes the emphasis off of how many "good/okay," contact instances with the ball in the middle of the PCI. But was running the 2nd inning showdown, and the game decided my short stop (Hanley Ramirez) needed 3 errors in an inning, including 2 errors just tossing the ball to 2nd base.

Something (albeit don't know exactly what), is wrong with the fielding in this game.

His character should have locked in, fielding is so s**t this year. Then to add insult to injury doesn't even pick up the ball when it should have been the first time he ran to it. His head shake at the end sums up how we feel about fielding this year, and you can tell he's fed up with it at this point as well. He shook his head subtly after the initial miss on the pop up as well after going back to watch it.

I give him a ton of credit for not going off and blasting the game. I suspect he gets it and is able to put the importance of a videogame bug in it’s appropriate level of importance in life. Probably helps that it was his bday and he wasn’t going to let anything ruin it.

Oh for sure. I won't give my age, I'm not old, but I'm no young buck either, and going full tilt on the closest desk or furniture near me isn't going to fix this mess lol.

It's not something to smash a controller over or lose your head over (tempting as it may be), but it definitely needs to be put front and center, and SDS needs to fix this so we can all fully enjoy the game for the rest of the year. I'll even go as far as to say I'm more than fine with them taking the time to fix this if that's what's needed, some people don't want any bugs from day 1 and fair enough, but personally I'm willing to give them time to iron it out. But we are coming up on a month, it's definitely bordering on negligent if this goes on for much longer.

Yeah, the issue is still there, and hopefully everyone can finally agree that this was never a matter of user skill.

Wow that’s bad. I’ve already gone so far that I’ve just started to adjust to these fielding errors. When the player doesn’t lock and you hit the spot you flick the stick in the opposite direction that your running so it stops. We shouldn’t have to do this but for noe it’s adapt or lose.

Well, they certainly messed with something on your behalf... my fielders are now auto-locking to the catch-circle waaaay farther away than they should.

I hope they fixed whatever it was you were hoping for, but they certainly enlarged to circumference for the fielders to back in The Show 18 days...

Last couple of games I've had these ridiculous outfield errors. A fly ball to centerfield I had Brian Reynolds in position but instead of going for the "Catch" animation he does a backstroke and the ball goes by for an error.


Not fly ball related but on a sac bunt I had Josh Bell get the ball to throw to the pitcher covering first but when I pressed Circle he ran instead of throwing and was charged with an "E3".

Not locking on to flyballs and not picking up balls on the ground is driving me nuts. The sony partners are discussing it as well. Its definitely an issue.

That's only happened to me one time where I locked on nowhere near the indicator. I think what's happening to most people is animations just flat out not triggering like they're supposed to, as is show by the numerous clips throughout this thread. Regardless, fielding is an issue no matter what specific bugs we're talking, the overarching theme is that fielding is just broken.

I've had the early lock on twice since the patch dropped in 3 games.
On the flip side, I've had 2 inside the park home runs against me because my outfielder wouldn't pick up the ball.
I'd call that a bad ratio.

I don't know what happened with this last patch but I feel like fielding actually got worse, which is quite the accomplishment on SDS's part.
