Exactly. Even in the players tournament I heard several players like Brandon Phillips and Lance McCullers Jr. bash the fielding in this game. Phillips on camera said to SDS last night this is not how I play CF in real life. I think I am going to skip 2021 and wait until 2022 comes out. Hopefully by then they will have a year under their belt on the new PS5 platform and even better graphics and game play will show up. This game has been kind of stale for years.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but baserunning now has become oddly broken on auto. In RTTS for example I have no control on whether they run or not and several times now when very obvious gappers hit by my player where made, my teammate AI would be frozen in place and act like they had to go back. This has prevented several XBH and RBIs in these situations.

This was not an issue before the patch. When a hard hit ball was hit to the gap, the CPU knew very well it was going to land in for a hit and run without hesitation.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I think baseball, with the complex nature of the sport (lots of strategy and fundamentals from each position), has to be one of the most difficult games to turn into a video game. To make things even tougher, SDS has to come up with new features and animations every year. Think of it as a new model a car manufacturer comes out with that will have several bugs to iron out. Thank goodness for patches and a company that at least tries to satisfy its customers. This is by far and away the best baseball video game franchise of all time in my opinion. It may not be perfect, but it is the best.

The issue is a defender getting to a spot and not getting *any* animation. He’s there, you preloaded with L1, the whole thing, but nothing plays out, the ball hits the dude in the shoulder or something and goes to the wall, and afterwards no error is scored. That, insofar as I understand it, is the issue. By contrast, if you’re getting an error animation, and an error is scored, that is RNG/user error, and not what this patch/issue is about. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
          Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Happened to me also ..Cpu Cpu game flyball to right runners on second and third did not tag up ..both came home!

That happened before the patch in Franchise MoM. Base running in the game has been awful all along really this year.

Never happened before and I'm not playing with this sort of bug.

That happened to me with the original release. Syndergaard on 1st. Deep fly to LF, Soto catches it with Syndergaard halfway to 2b. He then goes on to 2b from where he was. Soto runs to the wall and stands there staring at the wall while Syndergaard goes on to 3b.

2 games and 2 lines drives to outfielder charging. Both times hit outfielder in chest doesn't put hands up and counted as hit not an error....

Anyone else feel like the game is more laggy and jittery since the patch?

I’m wondering if adding an audio queue to indicate when you’ve locked onto a flyball would help. I see an improvement but you are still left wondering if the outfielder really locked on.

I’m considering putting auto fielding unfortunately

So the update notes mentioned nothing being done except two fielding situations being addressed..your the 2nd one to post about a auto baserunning issue already, which shouldnt have anything to do with what was fixed, so thats not good news. I mean the questions about pitch speeds and blue circles and all that they probably didnt touch especially becuase they did not include the " and other various bug fixes tag" we usually see, so this update looks pretty clear that literally fielding situations ( maybe just the 2 styles mentioned) were exactly all that was changed or adjusted fixed etc. in this update thats it. so how in the world could auto base running even be affected by this? is it possible that when they touch fielding issues like adjusting ball paths/aninations or whatever was done to fix this that it somehow ties in to what baserunners do?

I’ve played 4 games after the patch, auto base running, and I’ve had no problems. I have no idea why it would be messed up in RTTS and not user v. CPU.
