I do my own baserunning but it still sucks! Bases loaded 1 out. I hit a ball to Right center. I think at first it’s an out but I soon realize it’s going to split the gap and bounce on the warning track. I hit L1 to send all my runners instead of using the L stick and pressing what button/base I want them to run too( I was caught a little of guard, with the ball carrying like it did). Anyway runner on 2nd stops at third briefly which in return makes the runner from 1st who is right on the runner on 2nd who’s now at third heels. That makes my trailing runner stop and return to second, I try to send him to third quickly enough but to no avail. He’s out. I did score 2 but killed my rally as the next ball was the third out caught in center that would’ve no doubt scored the runner at third. Frustrating as hell!

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
I'm talking in game that I've never done it but I've also never seen the situation he described happen in real life either. Have I seen a guy thrown out at first on a single to right in real life? Yes. Have I seen a single to right thrown to second for a force and then thrown to first beating the runner there for a double play in real life? Not once.
Sent from my SM-G975U using TapatalkFrom right field it happens. From centerfield, not so much, especially when throwing to 2b first. I've seen a lot of bizarre running things in this game. Even if those things do happen IRL, they sure don't happen with the frequency they do in the game, and certainly not every game.Comment

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
In my 1999 Season Roster I created, I made certain to have all players with a baserunning aggression of no less than 25 as the baseline attribute rating. And then adjusted all other players up from that. This has made the baserunning about perfect. They definitely are moving now, and quite realistic. Granted, I had to rerate the almost 1,300 players in this file - but it was well worth the time to do so.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
Thanks for the advice. I chabged my created players so they all have minimum 25 baseball aggressiveness and the problem seems to be solved.

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
I don't think that things are absolutely fixed since the patch, but they are better. I had a game this morning where I led off the inning with a double, then the runner advanced to third on a weak grounder to 2nd, and then scored on another weak grounder to 2nd. Nice to see small ball working.Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
Come on SDS..please fix this. It is ridiculous. I am linking two videos that show a number of problems with Autobaserunning (AB) that weren't there before patch 1.10 forward.
Top of 9th, 2 outs, runner on 1B. You will see from these videos:
1) AB cancel immediately upon impact with ball
2) The runner on 1B does not advance on GB to 2B but returns to 1B. I tap L1 he keeps returning to 1B. Hit L1 again he finally starts to advance.
3) Ball is hit to 2B with runner still on 1B. Instead of simple flip to SS for force at 2B..CPU throws to 1B.
This has to be patched. It happened earlier in the inning too and cost me the game.

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
I have personally not had any glaring issues since the last patch. Some minor ones, yes. And runners are sometimes too cautious, even with sliders bumped up. But the big ones I was having seem to have been corrected.
Not directly related, but since patch 1.11, the CPU doesn't make errors any more in my franchise. Ever. I've played about a month of games now without them making a single one. I still make them at the same rate that I did before. Anyone else seeing this?Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.Comment

Re: Auto Baserunning Broken After Patch 1.10
I want to thank SDS for addressing the AB canceling problem in patch 1.13. In case someone from SDS is reading this, whatever you did for this patch virtually resolved the problem completely. I think I had one AB cancel in at least 10 games since patch 1.13 and that cancel was on a HR or final out.
I am afraid to install 1.14 though.Comment

I’ll be spamming L1 to get my runner to advance (because he has more than enough time) but he just stands there until the last minute before eventually advancing, only to get ground out.
Thought I might be doing something wrong but I guess it’s the game.Comment

I’m brand new to the game and have noticed some of these issues already.

Fortunately, patch 1.13 did a great job of fixing the cancel problem so you shouldn't have to worry about it too much.
One final thought: You will know if the AB cancels because you will see a yellow carrot toward your baserunner. If you don't see the yellow carrot, then AB is still working and the AI has decided not to advance your runner at that moment.
Sometimes because the AI stops midway between a base on say a fly ball and you think the AB has canceled because you know the fielder won't catch the ball. But the AI is actually just more cautious (often because of baserunner aggression attribute lower); yet you will think AB has canceled and start spamming L1 which really gets your runner(s) in trouble.Comment
