I didn't initially like the new Action Points system for MyGM, but I'm warming up to it slowly. I would, however, ask for a bit more explanation, as there are still some aspects that confuse me. For instance, I changed the option in GM Settings to allow for 10 "Extra Actions Per Day". Yet for whatever reason unexplained to me, even though my weekly schedule on the Overview tab shows upcoming days with both 10 Action Points and 11 Action Points (those are on gamedays), I always end up starting with just 7 Actions Points once I move on to that day. Where did those 3-4 Action Points go?

Re: After 200 games played, MLB '20 delivers another all-star performance
Something else this game does well, is that sometimes your pitcher just doesn't have it. Doesn't have a feel for a particular pitch. Case in point, playing a game and Kyle Funkhouser (Overall 97) is on the hill for me and he just can't locate anything, including his fastball and curveball which are his two best pitches and his curve, when on, is filthy.
So instead of being about to challenge hitters more often, I'm having to take a different approach to try and get him thru this game, or at least thru 5/6 innings so I don't tax the bullpen.
Very frustrating but very rewarding and engaging at the same time.

Something equally as frustrating but somehow rewarding/enjoyable is when you face a pitcher who isn't an all-star and/or is having a poor season and you just struggle against him on any given night.
Case in point, facing Zach Lingenfelter of the Brewers. He's struggling this year as he comes into the game 2-3 with a 6.79 ERA. He went 6 innings against us striking out 8 and yielding just 1 run on 4 hits. He had his changeup working tonight and his fastball/changeup combo was enough to keep us off-balance.
So frustrating, but at the same time, adds to the simulation of the game that sometimes a pitcher, no matter who it is, just has it on any given night.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I don’t know
Maybe because it’s a carryover?
Or it could be because I get a special fanboy edition

The fact that I can go pop in 14 and more or less it feels/looks/plays the same as 20 is pretty brutal. Sure it's a great base, but they've just rested their laurels now. Hopefully they try to step it up with the next generation of consoles, but I'm not holding out too much hopeComment

Lol at that special edition.
But seriously, not using the current roster assuredly has a lot to do with it.

On the theme of things this game does well/are infuriating - the toll injuries take on players, specifically those that are older.
I had Jacob deGrom retire this past off-season after his ratings plummeted following a significant injury during the prior season. Currently, I'm watching Noah Syndergaard's ratings drop rapidly after a back strain earlier this season. He's only 31, but he's already amassed 1800+ IP and has pitched deep into several postseasons (not to mention throwing 100+ every 5th day for 9 years).
While I wish veterans were more elastic in their recovery, it's pretty cool to see injuries at that point in their career have a much more significant effect than if they had happened in their rookie season.Comment

While they are similar due to the fact that they are the same series, developed by the same developer, and simulating the same sport, the gameplay of '20 in terms of hitting, ball physics, catcher play, and defense is light years ahead of where the game was in '14.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
