Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?

I myself flipping love it. The feeling I get when I know I nailed it for a home run is satisfying as hell. Plus there are still edge of your seat home runs that you’re not sure will go out. So I don’t know why it’s hated, I see it hated all the time in so many threads.

It's tough to track where the ball is, and for a game that goes through great pains to replicate a broadcast, it's very jarring. I prefer the "pullback" no-doubt camera where the fielding camera is zoomed back a little further than usual to track an absolute bomb. At the very least, I wish the No Doubt Cam was toggable, because I know it does have its fans, but I prefer the broadcast-style pull-out on a deep HR.

      I really like it too!

Plus it triggers when the ball is flirting with the line and ends up going foul, so it’s not even a no doubt home run camera exactly. I like this a little less lol.

        1) It takes any drama away, however brief it may be.
        2) I like the game looking like a broadcast (Which is why I use the retro view in the field), and you generally don't see that angle during a broadcast, especially not live.
Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning!

Which reminds of something that disappeared somewhere between MLB14 and 18, the foul ball camera. I don’t know why they got rid of it besides obviously the fact that it’s foul. It’s just really awkward to nail it and not be able to see where it’s going, especially when it’s close to fair and Matt even comments on “if it’s fair its trouble” and I can’t even see it...

Yeah, I love it. The way it instantaneously triggers the exact moment you make contact is exhilarating. Makes me want to yell "PLAKATA!!!".

if Sony will just put the on/off option back in, no one will have to hate it.

Agree totally. I have commentators turned off so I feel more like I'm at the game. In all my years, I don't ever recall that happening at a game I've been in the stands for.

Also, some of those no-doubters are fouls. No doubt about that.

I don't know what the big deal is about making it an option.

Re: Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?

Generally I don't get the no-doubt camera because of the camera combo I use (any behind-the-plate+Dynamic Fielding) - it creates a no-cut view of the ball flight as seen here:

                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gjzk6BdD9NU" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Sometimes for shots right down the line (or foul) it will cut to the view angled directly down the line, but most of the time, no-doubt or not, it's this view to all fields with no camera cut.

It's certainly not a "broadcast" type view, but it's a pretty realistic one from the batter's (and then the catcher's) PoV. It's still pretty obvious when I've hit a no-doubter even without the no-doubt camera, with the Perfect-Perfect bat crack and being able to see the batter start his jog.

I personally enjoy the home run camera......just hit this walk off HR with Chavis in the 11th inning to clinch the AL East in game #159 of the season

The Yankees held first place from April until midway through September and I trailed the Yankees by 2.5 games on September 8th when I began a 3 game series and swept the Yankees to take over 1st place. The Yankees would cool off over the final 15 games and the Red Sox stayed hot which allowed me to extend my lead in the division and clinch with 3 games left to play
