I love it, but make it optional for those who don’t.

Re: Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?
It's tough to track where the ball is, and for a game that goes through great pains to replicate a broadcast, it's very jarring. I prefer the "pullback" no-doubt camera where the fielding camera is zoomed back a little further than usual to track an absolute bomb. At the very least, I wish the No Doubt Cam was toggable, because I know it does have its fans, but I prefer the broadcast-style pull-out on a deep HR.
It was optional years ago. Right?

Yes and when they re-did/re-worked their presentation, it was no longer optional.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

A lot of folks here like to play this game as if they're watching it on TV. That's why they go for clean screens, classic pitching, hell some even bat with the behind-the-pitcher cam. This game doesn't have a proper broadcast fielding camera, but what they have also likely serves the purpose for some individuals.
Having this home run camera takes it out of their element. Whereas every other camera they're using and playing with appears to be as if it's a cameraman somewhere in the stadium getting a shot of the action, this one comes out of nowhere like there was a cameraman planted right next to the batter, waiting for this moment... which is clearly not a thing, unless they're rounding to home plate.
Spoiler
This is especially one of the reasons I don't use that weird cinematic camera that you can enable between pitches. I would love it if they were other broadcast cameras, but instead they are panning shots as if the camera is right in front of the pitcher or something.
And honestly, as it's been said, what most people are upset about is this used to be something optional in this game, and they removed the option without explanation and any consideration to bring it back. Home Run Derby is so untouched that you'll even see the option in there, and it doesn't even do anything in HRD mode. They unapologetically decided for the gamer that we want to see that camera as opposed to the one that our gameplay camera is set to, and that's just not true for everybody here.
I mean this one is off-topic, but I always wondered why we haven't seen a single football video game give us the option to remove the blue and yellow lines for scrimmage and first down markers. I think that would be a tremendous visual removal to have so you're playing as if you're a guy on the field and need to know your own yardage you're fighting for (or you can't cross). Not having the option really seems silly to me. Such is the case for something like this camera.
EDIT: After having written all of that, I'm now starting to realize this guy in fact may just be a bot.Last edited by Blzer; 07-23-2020, 08:40 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?
@ Blzer, that's a fair point and well-stated. The cam does take away some of the immersion that comes from clean-screen, broadcast-style gaming. For some, this move registers as a fun reward for a good swing, but for others, the fun this moment entails is not worth the sacrifice of broadcast-style realism, so the issue seems to boil down to priorities and tolerance of variance, with no necessarily "right" or "wrong" answer.Comment

Re: Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?
I read your post Blzer, don’t worry if that guy is actually a bot. I get it now why some people don’t like it. For those who want to play the game as if it’s an actual television broadcast, the no doubt HR camera is completely out of place and very “video game-ish” so to speak. It takes the realism out.
But I still love it and I agree it should be an option. For me the reason I like it is for example during a tough game it’s rewarding to see that angle for finally crushing one out of the park and see it fly from the players perspective. It’s very satisfying and thrilling IMO.Comment

All I want is the option back! Some enjoy it but others do not. Just keep it on by default if they want but let me turn it offComment

Oddly enough, I've wanted Tiburon to re-introduce the option to have a blue line-of-scrimmage marker for awhile. You could argue that those lines are the most pointless feature of NFL telecasts, but they've been apart of them for years and I'd like to see them in-game for the sake of broadcast realism.MLB: San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics (Sell The Damn Team, Fisher!)

Re: Very curious. Why do people hate the no doubt home run camera?
I don’t hate it at all. Had a sick one the other day that was perfect and timely and, well, beautiful.
I also fully support those who would like an option to turn it off.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment

I like it.
Should be an option, though.Comment
