    Likewise.

I think we may see release dates pushed back due to the pandemic, but I think its safe to assume that much of this legwork was done long before things got turned upside down.

And the impact of Covid works both ways. Considering we have no idea when or if we will find some 'normal', gaming should continue to see crazy heights. Best Buy has been sold out of PS4s for the last 60 days. Madden is an abomination at this point, with a fanbase getting more and more bitter, and I'll bet it sees record sales. Companies like this are going to wish they had huge releases in this window, such as that Samurai game.

My guess is, they are going to rush this thing.

I think MLB the Show 21 and 22 will clearly show if SDS is going the Madden route where their only focus is micro transactions or if they are really committed to putting out a well rounded product and making upgrades to RTTS and Franchise Mode.

At least SDS has not been like the Madden devs who promise upgrades to franchise mode every year and then do nothing. But SDS has acted like franchise mode doesn’t even exist the couple years.

I don't see SDS having a reason to rush anything. We are just nearing half way through the lifespan for '20. What would be the point of prematurely releasing anything. Baseball IRL and in video game form is still a ways out from a 2021 season. The Show '20 was never landing on any other platforms and there's no public timeline for the new platforms to get any version of The Show. It might not even happen in 2021 as that was never guaranteed. I'm not worried at this point, as there is no reason to be. There won't be a new version of the show for 7 to 8 months even with the pandemic they have a nice chunk of time to work with.

Can't wait til it comes out on XBOX so I can sell my PS4. But if I have to keep the PS4 around another year, I will. I really can't see many PS4 improvements to come next year though as I bet they put all their chips into the next gen version.

Relocation/rebranding was a pretty big deal. Half-executed, many would argue, but still a pretty big add.

Not directly franchise related, but adding service time was pretty big as well, as far as creating an authentic player/contract expereince.

No giant leaps, but I'm perfectly fine with small steps forward. Which they have taken since I started with this series in 2015.

As someone that would like to buy it for the Xbox, if they can’t implement sounds of the show, I will have to continue buying the PlayStation version.

Yeah RBI was a stellar game back in tge old gen days

Based on Sony's 2020 Corporate Report, the PC will be explored for Sony first-party titles. Take it for whatever you want, either way, this could mean a real possibility for MLB The Show coming to PC in a year or two.
