How will the Xbox Series X impact the quality of MLB The Show?
MLB The Show is coming to the Xbox Series X next year. How do you think it will impact the game as far as gameplay, Franchise Mode, and presentation? Do you think we will lose the quality of the game? Will we lose depth and detail? What are your thoughts?

I'm more concerned for franchise then ever before. With it going multi platform I forsee them trying to get everyone one into DD (I get it, it profitable for them). But franchise is what got this game off the ground (and RTTS), but they have seemed to move on from it/them.Comment

It seems like they positioned themselves well, and we shouldn't lose anything as we jump gens.
Load times are the improvement I am banking on with the new consoles.
I haven't been able to comprehend the 4k issues so many talk about. I find it very hard to believe I haven't had the issues simply because of my 4k tv choice, but that's really all I can chalk it up to.
Very simply, coming from the prehistoric age of sports gaming, I don't care if I can see a stray thread on a jersey, or count the beads of sweat on a pitchers head. The game looks great. I would MUCH rather see devs put the bulk of their time into features and modes than spit shining an already beautiful product.
.. what I want most is some kind of external roster editor. It takes too bleeping long to build great retro rosters for this game. I highly doubt that is a realistic expectation, but it has to happen at some point. It helps at least that we can port rosters across versions now, rather than doing it thru franchise files. That was a big step.
A stadium creator would be awesome.
A career stats editor would be great as well. You want free speech?

personally, I'm hoping the XBox drains the swamp & makes franchise great again. also, I hope it brings about wall building, fence building and grandstand building, even dome building AKA create-a-stade.
but IF the Show also comes to PC's, that will have far more impact on the Show than XBox IMOOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Xbox game pass will allow users to play any Xbox game on a PC. Will this allow people to mod the game?

Texmod, using TPF files, was one of the early Madden mods, which executed its edits while the game was running.
Problem with that theory though... isn't Game Pass for PC run solely off an app?? If you can't access/edit the files, they can't be edited. You want free speech?

Re: How will the Xbox Series X impact the quality of MLB The Show?
I don't think Sony at this point would let the quality of The Show on it's own consoles drop just to satisfy a deal with Microsoft. If they stretched resources instead of having a good size team dedicated to the Microsoft side that could be bad for The Show in general but again that seems unlikely.
The Xbox version will need to be scaled to work with both the Series S and X and didn't they say that new games had to be playable on the current gen Xbox as well. That seems like a big undertaking. So I think Xbox user would be the only ones disappointed if anybody is to end up in such a position."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

The potential audience is just so much larger now, it’s like a radio DJ: you were on in LA, so you were already a pretty big deal, but now you’re syndicated in NY and Chicago too. Now you’re huge. Now it’s time to blow up.
I think in a similar way they’ll try to hit it out of the park, no pun intended, and (not particularly) surprise a lot of people with their best effort to date. Their track record is just too pristine to assume much less.
And if I may while I’m here: I just really, really, really want them to bring back real time presentation. I appreciate lots of people found it boring and skipped a ton of it or whatever, but you cannot argue in good faith that a series of prerendered cutscenes is a preferable option going forward.Last edited by Detroit Tigers; 09-26-2020, 03:23 AM.Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.Comment
